  1. It might burn the largests one roughly, but if it's a BW image then it's probably that for a reason and you should burn it with blindwrite.
  2. If you can't avoid putting the via drivers on and the via drivers kill your burner, you'll probably have to invest in a
  3. No, it means the program can't read from the hard drive quickly enough. That normally happens because you don't have DMA enabled and your machine is totally bogged down trying to run the drive in PIO mode but it could be something else. Follow the post in the FAQ about uninstalling the IDE controller to fix DMA and then try again.
  4. Update ImgBurn. Try burning at 16x or 32x. Ditch the verbatim discs and try some taiyo yuden ones instead. I stopped using Verbatim CD's ages ago in favour of TY's and I've never looked back. TY's are by far the best.
  5. Please post your log of the burn / verify.
  6. Damn, I really wish I could get mine to fail! Even if I throw some really crappy media at it, it still seems to burn ok That Iso Burner program doesn't finalise the disc at all, it opens a new session so that's probably why they work. Compare the disc info between discs burnt with the 2 programs and you'll see what I mean. ImgBurn's says 'Status: Complete', 'Sessions: 1', the Iso Burner's says 'Status: Incomplete', 'Sessions: 2'.
  7. Ok, I've implemented a workaround for when drives only report 1 descriptor in the TOC info (i.e. the leadout is missing). It'll fabricate it based on the value returned by the 'Read Capacity' command. ie. the command that gives you this info:
  8. If it says primary and secondary then you're talking about the channels, not the controller. You should have a 3rd one listed under that 'IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller' branch. That's the one you need to delete and it'll take the other two with it.
  9. Yours... A normal drive... Your plextor just isn't returning any leadout info (that's the 'AA' bit in the buffer). I can probably work around it but really this is a firmware bug - or some filter driver corrupting things.
  10. They're totally different. DVD Decrypter didn't have to deal with multiple tracks etc and just went on the capacity. ImgBurn uses TOC info so it knows where tracks/sessions start and end.
  11. Deleting the main controller entry and rebooting has never failed for me.
  12. This is what it should look like: TOC Information: Session 1... (LBA: 0) -> Track 01 (Mode 1, LBA: 0 - 2297887) -> LeadOut (LBA: 2297888) Your drive isn't reporting the leadout address, or if it is, it's doing it differently to every other drive I've ever come across. Now I need you to do the following: Eject the disc Load the program and switch to Read mode. Press F8. Insert the disc. Wait until is says 'Ready' in the status bar and then press F8 again. Save the log to a file and attach it in your next post. Thanks
  13. Try burning one having turned off the 'DVD+R Reserve Track' option in the settings. You probably won't be able to mess with hypertuning on that drive, it's too old. (That's why it says 'N/A' rather than 'No' or 'Yes')
  14. look familiar blu? Seems this is what happens when LiteOn drives get old and stop playing nicely!
  15. Your drive appears to be reporting bad TOC info. Copy + paste the disc info from the panel on the right when in read mode with the plextor active and that disc in the drive.
  16. From the 2.4.1.0 changelog: Added/Changed: When running in 'Portable' mode, certain paths will be saved relative to the exe's folder if they're at the same level or below it. (i.e. 'D:\ImgBurn\Sounds\Success.wav' becomes '.\Sounds\Success.wav')
  17. Your appalling write/verify speeds suggest you've got DMA issues. Take a look at the DMA related post in the FAQ so that your drive works at the correct speed.
  18. Does it burn and verify ok? Post the log of it doing that please. Burn at 12x. I'm not convinced that image you're burning is a DVD Video one to start with.
  19. Burn faster, you might have more luck.
  20. You have DMA issues somewhere along the line - otherwise the drive wouldn't be reporting that error. That error is common on newer motherboards that don't have an IDE port on the chipset and have to use a jmicron controller or something - in which case you need to be using the shortest cable possible. It's probably easier to just pick up a Silicon Image 680 PCI card and run the drive off that.
  21. If it won't burn the best DL media available, it's probably time to retire the drive.
  22. Assuming I can send files to your forum email, I'll send you a build tomorrow that doesn't use immediate I/O for the sync cache, close track etc commands (it'll be an option to disable it). See if that's any better.
  23. Don't you mean incorporate ImgBurn into DVDShrink? I seem to recall there's already a version of DVDShrink floating around that can use ImgBurn (in the same way it used to use DVD Decrypter). Try Googling it.
  24. Could you insert one of the discs in the samsung and copy + paste the info from the panel on the right when you're in READ mode please.
