  1. It's not a winrar file, you just have winrar associated with ISO files. Go into the winrar settings and turn that off. If you built a blu-ray image it'll be using UDF v2.50. I doubt WinRAR can understand v2.50, it probably only supports v1.02. Mount the ISO in DAEMON Tools and install a driver so your OS can read UDF 2.5 - that'll allow explorer/my computer to view the disc.
  2. Oh well, you've tried them at both speeds available to you on that drive (4x and 6x) and it failed both times. You could keep trying if you don't mind a few more coasters but it's probably best that you don't! Maybe you can take them back for an exchange / part refund?
  3. The 'Perform OPC Before Write' option is new in 2.4.0.0 If your drive can't handle it (which appears to be the case here), simply turn it off in the settings - it's on the 'Write' tab.
  4. I've only used the Verbatim BD-R and BD-RE discs so far really but it's been fine with both of those. What firmware version are you running?
  5. They don't appear to work very well in your drive but that doesn't mean they're crappy full stop. Firmware support for the Verb MKM-001-00 discs is just a lot more mature and they're better quality anyway.
  6. Anyone got any updates for me?! This won't get sorted unless people help!
  7. Ok, just for you... Mode 2/Form1 images where the user has manually changed the file name from *.bin to *.iso will no longer have the cue created.
  8. Every DL post in the forum will tell you to use Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL media that's made in Singapore, this one is no different.
  9. Ok, I only had SHM-165P6S version (the one without lightscribe I believe) and it doesn't appear to have any problems with the booktype commands - so it would appear something else in your machine is blocking the command. I 11:10:42 ImgBurn Version 2.4.0.11 Beta started!I 11:10:42 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 11:10:42 Total Physical Memory: 1,046,964 KB - Available: 421,856 KB I 11:10:42 Initialising SPTI... 10. So just pretend to start buring a disc, wait for the box to pop up, take a screenshot and then press cancel. That log is not the whole thing, infact I'm not sure what it is or where you got it from!
  11. Yeah but you have to remember that just because ImgBurn examines the files to figure out the correct format, other programs might not and will expect an ISO to be Mode1/2048. If you leave the 'Default Destination' on automatic, doesn't ImgBurn give the file a 'bin' extension by default?
  12. It's only made when it should be. i.e. if it's not a mode 1/2048 image then it'll be created - but in those cases you should be using bin/cue anyway really.
  13. 2.4 is the first version to query the booktype options before a burn so it would make sense that it's never worked. I'm sure that drive is perfectly capable of bitsetting stuff though so it's a little weird that it hangs. I think I have that model in my cupboard so I'll dig it out tomorrow and test for myself. If mine works ok you need to start looking at dodgy drivers. In any case, it might be an idea to look at the filter drivers list and maybe post what you see up here so we can look at it. (Look in the Tools menu)
  14. Pick the one that looks best - use the preview. Avoid it being in the middle of a scene. Try to get it as close to 50/50 as you can. Use the stars to help pick a good one. Post a screenshot if you like so we can see what the options are.
  15. decrypter didn't do anything with booktypes. What have you done/installed since it last worked ok?
  16. I stand corrected. It still shouldn't be keeping them open though! If I watch it via Process Explorer when it's burning a file, I can clearly see it opening the file at the start and closing it at the end. I tried it with Verify both enabled and disabled. I think you'll have to look into the other stuff that weisborg mentioned.
  17. If ImgBurn can't see the disc in the drive and it doesn't sound like it's spinning up when you put a new disc in then I very much doubt it'll fix itself.
  18. Your drive doesn't support those discs. Get some 2.4x Verbatim (MKM-001-00, made in Singapore) ones instead.
  19. Sounds like the drive died, can you send it back under warranty?
  20. ok so there's some issue with the booktype stuff then. The drive still shouldn't lock up though, it should either process the command or error out. My guess is you can't even use the manual bitsetting stuff without it locking up?
  21. There's no setting to tweak to avoid a miscompare. Either the data matches the source or it doesn't. When the verify fails, repeat the process a couple more times and see if the miscompares are always in the same place. Maybe its a dodgy driver messing things up.
  22. What does it say it's doing in the status bar? ImgBurn can only abort when IT has control. If it's waiting for the drive to process the I/O command, it is NOT in control.
  23. ImgBurn isn't going to conflict with itself and it certainly wouldn't/couldn't cause the UDMA related I/O errors.
  24. It shouldn't be keeping them open and if it was the 'delete image when done' option wouldn't work.
