  1. The preview window should help to pinpoint the best place... hopefully you've figured out how best to use it? It displays 2 cells (unless you're previewing cell 1) and so when you see the 'Cell' marker go from one to the other, you know that's where the layer break is gonna be. Cell '1' will be the last cell on the 1st layer, Cell '2' will be the first cell on the 2nd layer (i.e. after the slight pause). So yeah, you want to pick a Cell where if you step back a frame from the start (first) frame of Cell '2', it's totally different. (a different angle / scene)
  2. I reeeeaaaally wanted to release it this weekend but I was so busy with other stuff last week that I've only just been able to pass out (what I hope will be) the final beta (after some pretty big changes were made to one of the new features). So it needs another week of testing and then fingers crossed it'll be good to go
  3. Wow, 'DH20A3H YP5S' gets 1 result in Google and this page is it! lol I'm not aware that setting the LB position is something I have to 'wait' for before then checking it again - certainly it's not something I've come across before with any other drives. You might find that updating the drives firmware to the latest one will fix the issue. http://club.cdfreaks.com/1952787-post659.html Try the 4th link down in that post - i.e. http://www.yourfilehost.com/media.php?cat=...5P_HT695WIN.rar
  4. What I mean is... Either you allow updates (and allow it to pass through the firewall) or you turn updates off. You shouldn't allow updates and then block it, that's just pointless. When you install the program it asks if you want to check for updates so there's really no excuse. The error you've got there is nothing to do with the program checking for updates or not checking for them. The update code runs in it's own thread (in the background) so unless your firewall is corrupting ImgBurn's memory, it wouldn't go anywhere near the other threads doing the burning. The update code is also only called at the moment the program loads - so for it to error out when the drive did, it would have had to have taken over 20 minutes to realise there was a problem. Would the firewall really block the connection in a way that it takes that long to bomb out? What if it wasn't multithreaded - you'd be waiting 20mins for the program to start! If you've always used RICOHJPN-D00-01 media, no wonder you got errors. The quality of that media can vary quite a lot - that's why we only recommend Verbatims for DL burning.
  5. That's a bit harsh, I wasn't trying to be cocky at all. I just wanted to check it was still that same error code being returned when it really could be considered stuck - and I wouldn't consider it stuck after only 10 seconds - it's quite normal for the drive to return that error code after such a short period of time. Erm ok, good luck with that. Your system has the problem here, not my piece of *** software.
  6. You need to work out the overhead for the filesystem... I'm not sure it's an easy thing to do without actually creating the file system! ImgBurn's Build mode works that way when you press the 'Calculate' button. I think you might be better off just adding a field where you can type in the info from ImgBurn.
  7. If they're all about the same and the camera angle doesn't change as the cell changes, you might aswell go for the 50/50 with the least padding. There's no sense in burning more than you need to.

    VOB FILES

You need to reauthor the disc using software that supports such a thing - this is not something ImgBurn can do. Just Google 'combine dvds' or something
  9. Hmm where are all the other buttons that are supposed to be on that window?! Padding is where ImgBurn fills up some sectors with 'zeroes' to move the data on the disc to a later LBA. i.e. if a file normally starts on LBA 10, I could add some padding to make it start on LBA 15. Padding is required so everything gets aligned properly. Basically, try to get the split as close to 50/50 as you can whilst picking a Cell that looks ok - use the 'Preview' feature for that and find a cell that's not part of a fast action scene. The Preview feature should be visible as a button down the bottom left.
  10. A burn error would have nothing to do with checking for updates. (In these situations it helps if you provide the real / full error). It should go without saying that if you want the program to check for updates then you need to allow it through your firewall. Likewise, it's silly saying the program can check for updates and then blocking it from doing so at the firewall. That's like someone saying: Sure, you can drive my Ferrari.... but if you get within 10m of it you'll die.
  11. You're in Write mode, switch to Build mode. It's probably easier if you take a look at the Guides, that's what they're there for.
  12. You've got a driver installed that doesn't support (is blocking) the command used to format a disc - that's normally because the controller is meant for HDD's and not Optical drives. Look for driver updates and maybe the problem will go away.
  13. Thanks for the donation AlienX69. I hope you enjoy using your new rig Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everyone too!
  14. Rebuild the image using Build mode having first extracted the ISO content to your hdd somewhere (or mount the ISO in DAEMON Tools and build directly from the virtual drive).
  15. I like PerfectDisk myself
  16. You can actually just add 'DVD-R' / 'DVD+R' / 'DVD+R DL' to the list and do it that way. (i.e. any of the values that show up under 'Current Profile') That's as generic as it gets though.
  17. *stuck* would be where it's still doing it after 10 minutes, not just 10 seconds. Do you have any DVD-R discs? Does it do the same on those?
  18. It might be easier to just use DVDFlick or ConvertXtoDVD. They create the proper DVD Video file structure.
  19. Are you using Vista? Point the 'Destination' to somewhere you actually have access to save to.
  20. If it's stereo on your hdd it'll be stereo on the disc. ImgBurn doesn't change anything so there's no way in the world for that to happen.
  21. When does this actually pop up? Before the burn or after it?
  22. ImgBurn can't read the layer break info from NRG files so those images will be of no use to you if you want to burn with ImgBurn.
  23. It all depends on what you're after. If you need all the extra stuff that Nero provides (conversion etc), obviously you'll favour Nero. If you just want a relatively simple burning tool, ImgBurn has some nice features.
  24. If you're loading the .DVD file it shouldn't ask you to select a layer break position - it'll read it from the .DVD file. However, if the one in the .DVD file is not valid for the type of media you're burning to (can happen if going from PTP to OTP), it'll have to prompt you. To be fair though, there's no point at all in using CloneCD for the reading part if you going to burn with ImgBurn anyway. You might aswell just use 'Read' mode in ImgBurn, they do exactly the same thing.
  25. If you install Nero Image Drive the securom program might not like it. ImgBurn is just an exe so it can't mess anything up.
