Well they are 16x discs and the drive is only capable of 8x on them... that's never a good sign. Your firmware is up-to-date but it's still old, if you know what I mean? Maybe now would be a good time to invest in a 'new' model drive?
-
You're using DVD-R media? The drive only supports the 'plus' (+) format. I think it's time to buy a new one.
-
There's a post about 5 below yours on this subject. 3 letter searches don't work - it's easier to use your eyes sometimes anyway! I can normally spare an extra 5 mins to read a disc to the hdd before I burn it so on-the-fly is not important to me - and it's things I like that normally get implemented first.
-
No bother, just pointless you wasting your time on it - it's pretty clear it's not going to work!
-
What type of files are they? AVI (DivX, XViD etc) ? What type of disc do you want to burn? DVD Video? ImgBurn won't convert anything, it's a burning tool. You can quite easily google how to convert files, you'll learn a lot more if people don't hold your hand through everything. If you have an actual issue with the burning stage, feel free to post again - but please try and provide some useful (detailed) info!
-
You just had a write error. (drive couldn't write to the media) Throw the disc in the bin and try another one.
-
Give up with that and get some TYG02 or MCC 003 discs instead.

Getting my burned DVDs to work in my DVD Player
LIGHTNING UK! replied to driftaway84's topic in ImgBurn Support
Ok, you edited your post....do the discs (UME02) work or don't they? EDIT: That's can't be right, your source image is messed up. -
Getting my burned DVDs to work in my DVD Player
LIGHTNING UK! replied to driftaway84's topic in ImgBurn Support
Nexxtech doesn't really mean anything. You need to find the exact dye that use to work and find some newer discs that still use that same dye. Put one of your old 8x discs in the drive and copy + paste the info from the right hand side of ImgBurn's main window. -
There's no error there. Turn off debug mode and try to post something that's more useful in showing us what the problem is that you're having.

Anyone with a P35 chipset motherboard and a Silicon Image (S)ATA card?
LIGHTNING UK! replied to LIGHTNING UK!'s topic in Chat
Yup it was a (well, several) PCI card(s). Nothing by Silicon Image works properly, they all run really slowly. Onboard it just has the 6 channel ICH9R and a Jmicron 36x that does 2 e-sata and an IDE port (that I don't use). Nope, no PCI latency option in the bios -

If you have a few DVD Video sets that you want to combine, there are tools out there that can do it - (re)authoring tools. Google it and I'm sure you'll find something. -
Anyone with a P35 chipset motherboard and a Silicon Image (S)ATA card?
LIGHTNING UK! replied to LIGHTNING UK!'s topic in Chat
Turns out it's the PCI latency value that makes it slow. It defaults to 0 but using PCI Latency Tool I was able to set it to 32 / 64. Now it works fine -
Pass, I just know it does divx. I don't suppose the PS2 is powerful enough for anything too complicated.

LIGHTNING UK! replied to dr_ml422's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
Storing 2 files of the same name isn't possible - and goes for most (if not all!) file systems. The content doesn't even come into it. Besides, what you're asking for is useless anyway as DVD Video discs don't work like that. You can't just bundle a load of random ifo/bup/vob files into a folder and expect them to play. ImgBurn is NOT a conversion / authoring program (nor will it ever be), what goes in = what comes out. -

MD5 file created for only one of my disk copies
LIGHTNING UK! replied to jbernardis's topic in ImgBurn Support
Well for small images ( For big images (> 4.37GB - or rather just an double layer one!), it's used to store the info about the disc structure so far the layer break position is concerned. So basically, if you've no intention of mounting your little CD sized image in DT and wanting it to look like a DVD, you can delete that MDS. I don't recommend deleting ones that go with double layer images though. -
I just need to know the burst rate you get off it when you've got an optical drive connected to it! My abit IP35 Pro seems to limit them to ~23mb/s for some reason and that's not really enough for 16x burning! doh! You can test the burst rate in cdspeed - http://www.cdspeed2000.com/ Just put an original single layer DVD in the drive and press F6. The burst rate test will then start.

MD5 file created for only one of my disk copies
LIGHTNING UK! replied to jbernardis's topic in ImgBurn Support
'Create MDS File - Auto' will cause ImgBurn to make the MDS (You DO mean MDS and not MD5) if the image is DL sized OR under 1GB in size. -
Yes, we're sure.
-
To be honest, I've seen a few reports of samsung drives not finalising properly...maybe it's just a general issue with them? Let's hope the next firmware update fixes that.
-
If you want help with the firmware you need to tell us exactly which drive you have. (You can find that info in the little window on the right of the main ImgBurn window) You can also check for updates yourself by clicking on the 'Tools' menu at the top of the ImgBurn main window, then goto 'Drive', then 'Check For Firmware Updates...'
