  1. That looks better / fine Does it play? If not, what does the disc look like (folder wise) if you open it in Explorer?
  2. This is a media issue if anything. Reinstalling won't help. Moving to support.
  3. If it plays in the pc (from the drive you were buring in?) why didn't your log include info from the verify stage too? You seem to have cut it short.
  4. You can solve that deviceiocontrol error by reading the FAQ. Basically some other program you have open is currently accessing the drive and so ImgBurn cannot take hold of the drive for it's own exclusive usage.
  5. Where's the verify bit? Or is that as far as it got? You've got 16x media there and the drive is only showing 4x as a supported speed - which basically means it doesn't support it. If a drive doesn't support the media properly you'll get a rubbish burn. So get yourself some decent Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media and try again.
  6. make an iso that doesn't do it properly and then cut the first part of it off (with the file system data in it), then email that to the support address in the program's about box.
  7. 'TV System' ? Maybe it's a PAL / NTSC issue then. Is whatever you're trying to burn/play in the correct format for your hardware?
  8. Click the verify box BEFORE you burn, then it'll do both, one after the other. Once that's done, copy + paste everything from the Log window (Click the View menu and then 'Log' to make it visible - and then don't close it next time )
  9. Can you please post a log of you doing a burn+verify so we can look at it.
  10. Sorry, what exactly is the problem here? When you put a blank DVD into the drive the name changes from 'DVD-RAM Drive' to 'CD Drive' ? As mentioned several times, that's normal. Windows doesn't support burning onto DVD+ (plus) or DVD- (minus) format media. It basically sees such discs as 'unknown' media and just defaults to labelling the drive as a 'CD Drive'. There's nothing wrong with that, it happens to everyone - including me. So what really is the problem? If you can put a disc in the drive and ImgBurn will see it just fine and give you all the info about it in the info window on the right, there really is no problem/issue. Are you perhaps then worrying about nothing? If you remember that ImgBurn is just a burner (i.e. it doesn't convert anything), copying an AVI to a DVD isn't a problem. Your laptop will play AVI files so you don't need to convert anything. Just drag + drop the AVI in the Build modes 'Source' window and then burn it. You'll end up with an AVI file on the disc that you can play by simply double clicking on it in Explorer. Any standalone player that supports playing avi/divx files will also be able to play it just fine.
  11. If the Verbs are a decent batch made in Singapore and you've tried 2.4x and 4x with it failing both times, it probably is the drive. It's making such bad burns that even IT can't read them back - that's never a good thing!
  12. Turns out I've already fixed this ready for the next version - I just checked in VMWare.
  13. I speak 'British' English, there is no 'z' in my optimised. You can see from the screenshots above that the LBA isn't 0 on the duplicates, maybe something else is going wrong? I was only using 2.3.2.0 for those tests so it should be the same version you're on.
  14. If it's just comboboxes that are the problem, I assume you're talking about the 'drive' ones? They're about the only things defined as 'customdraw'. I don't change my DPI from the std and it's not something I test with - so unless people like you tell me about it, I never know there's a problem.
  15. Bad discs or bad drive I guess. Check and see if there are any firmware updates for it.
  16. I will no doubt make a new one for HD DVD and Blu-ray. 2.4.0.0 does detect if you're building a HD DVD/Blu-ray Video disc and prompts to change the file system accordingly. I doubt burning files > 4GB in size happens that frequently on everyday (non video) stuff.
  17. Every drive is different. That's why it's handy to have a collection of them
  18. You need to just use UDF, not ISO9660 + UDF for the file system. As the error clearly states, ISO9660 can only support files less than 4GB in size. So if you're trying to add a file to the image that's bigger than that, you cannot possibly use ISO9660.
  19. It means basically the same as the first error did - the drive is having issues writing to the media.
  20. You have a problem READING from the hdd (or wherever that 'THE_FOX_AND_THE_HOUND.I03' file is stored). Time to run chkdsk on the drive. Hopefully it's not screwed or you'll need to start looking at buying a new one.
  21. Not much you can do really. If it's scratched and the drive won't read it, you'll either have to keep retrying until (if ever) it does, or click the ignore button and hope it can read the sector after that one. If you have a different drive, try it in that too.
  22. Almost all drives can be had for under £20 now.
  23. 840 is probably an LG. same goes for the 740.
  24. In the case of my S203B, yes! At 2.4x it doesn't work very often and when it does the disc quality scans show a far lower quality burn than those made at 4x.
  25. My 203B SB01 prefers burning those at 4x a lot more than at 2.4x, so give that a try.
