  1. Click the verify box BEFORE you burn, then it'll do both, one after the other. Once that's done, copy + paste everything from the Log window (Click the View menu and then 'Log' to make it visible - and then don't close it next time )
  2. Can you please post a log of you doing a burn+verify so we can look at it.
  3. Sorry, what exactly is the problem here? When you put a blank DVD into the drive the name changes from 'DVD-RAM Drive' to 'CD Drive' ? As mentioned several times, that's normal. Windows doesn't support burning onto DVD+ (plus) or DVD- (minus) format media. It basically sees such discs as 'unknown' media and just defaults to labelling the drive as a 'CD Drive'. There's nothing wrong with that, it happens to everyone - including me. So what really is the problem? If you can put a disc in the drive and ImgBurn will see it just fine and give you all the info about it in the info window on the right, there really is no problem/issue. Are you perhaps then worrying about nothing? If you remember that ImgBurn is just a burner (i.e. it doesn't convert anything), copying an AVI to a DVD isn't a problem. Your laptop will play AVI files so you don't need to convert anything. Just drag + drop the AVI in the Build modes 'Source' window and then burn it. You'll end up with an AVI file on the disc that you can play by simply double clicking on it in Explorer. Any standalone player that supports playing avi/divx files will also be able to play it just fine.
  4. If the Verbs are a decent batch made in Singapore and you've tried 2.4x and 4x with it failing both times, it probably is the drive. It's making such bad burns that even IT can't read them back - that's never a good thing!
  5. Turns out I've already fixed this ready for the next version - I just checked in VMWare.
  6. I speak 'British' English, there is no 'z' in my optimised. You can see from the screenshots above that the LBA isn't 0 on the duplicates, maybe something else is going wrong? I was only using 2.3.2.0 for those tests so it should be the same version you're on.
  7. If it's just comboboxes that are the problem, I assume you're talking about the 'drive' ones? They're about the only things defined as 'customdraw'. I don't change my DPI from the std and it's not something I test with - so unless people like you tell me about it, I never know there's a problem.
  8. Bad discs or bad drive I guess. Check and see if there are any firmware updates for it.
  9. I will no doubt make a new one for HD DVD and Blu-ray. 2.4.0.0 does detect if you're building a HD DVD/Blu-ray Video disc and prompts to change the file system accordingly. I doubt burning files > 4GB in size happens that frequently on everyday (non video) stuff.
  10. Every drive is different. That's why it's handy to have a collection of them
  11. You need to just use UDF, not ISO9660 + UDF for the file system. As the error clearly states, ISO9660 can only support files less than 4GB in size. So if you're trying to add a file to the image that's bigger than that, you cannot possibly use ISO9660.
  12. It means basically the same as the first error did - the drive is having issues writing to the media.
  13. You have a problem READING from the hdd (or wherever that 'THE_FOX_AND_THE_HOUND.I03' file is stored). Time to run chkdsk on the drive. Hopefully it's not screwed or you'll need to start looking at buying a new one.
  14. Not much you can do really. If it's scratched and the drive won't read it, you'll either have to keep retrying until (if ever) it does, or click the ignore button and hope it can read the sector after that one. If you have a different drive, try it in that too.
  15. Almost all drives can be had for under £20 now.
  16. 840 is probably an LG. same goes for the 740.
  17. In the case of my S203B, yes! At 2.4x it doesn't work very often and when it does the disc quality scans show a far lower quality burn than those made at 4x.
  18. My 203B SB01 prefers burning those at 4x a lot more than at 2.4x, so give that a try.
  19. It's pretty simple really, ImgBurn is a burning tool, DVD Decrypter was a dvd ripping tool. So you're comparing apples with oranges. ImgBurn is NOT designed to rip DVD's - hence why it's failing.
  20. That drive just might not support bitsetting? In any case, you don't have to mess with it manually in 2.3.2.0, it's automatic for Samsung and LG drives.
  21. Laptop drives are normally pretty rubbish to be honest and they get dirty quickly because the laser is exposed. Try the RB02 firmware update first, then if that doesn't work, try cleaning the laser. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss...ocid=MIGR-63596 Failing that, consider investing in an external burner.
  22. In build mode, goto the 'Advanced' tab, then the 'Bootable' one. Point it to the floppy disc image and tell it to emulate the 1.44 FDD. Add your other files to the 'Source' box (back on the left side of the main window) and then burn. So long as the floppy image loads cdrom drivers you'll have the ability to access the files you added to the 'source' window once you've booted from the bootable cd. If you don't load cdrom drivers you'll only be able to access whatever was in that 1.44mb floppy image. If you have a floppy disk you want to make an image of, ImgBurn can do that too, just use the 'Create Boot Image' bit at the bottom of the 'Bottable' tab.
  23. If it's no problem to return it, return it. Even if the 2nd one you have doesn't work, you can still return that and then go for something totally different.
  24. Your drive bombed out in a pretty bad way and reset itself. If you had the option of retrying, that might have worked? It's an old drive now an so probably doesn't follow the version of MMC specs that ImgBurn is programmed around. Perhaps now would be a good time to think about getting a modern DVD burner?!
  25. Attempt to burn it again, but this time press the F8 key before you hit the 'Write' button. By doing that, you'll get loads more stuff in the log. Once it's errored out and you've clicked 'ok' to terminate the burn operation, press F8 again to disable I/O debug mode. Then, SAVE the log as a file and upload the file.
