It shows as 'N/A' when there's no disc in the drive. Obviously unless your drive is only capable of rewriting 1 type of media, the capabilities info is of no use. It just so happens that you do fall into that category - whereas most people are now using drives that can rewrite cds, dvd-rw, dvd+rw and dvdram - hence the reason for prompting if the program can't determine the media type automatically. Since your original posting, I've already made the necessary tweaks so that if the 'get current profile' function fails, the program will look to see if the drive is just a basic cd burner before then assuming you want to erase a cdrw.
-
I'm talking about in the info window on the right. It lists 'Current Profile'. i.e. Yours probably reads: or or

I use GoldenHawk's CDRWIN for audio. I have no use for anything else besides that and ImgBurn.

Plus you should find them in with the game when you purchased it.
-
A picture of the graph data (done via DVDInfoPro and ImgBurn's IBG file) would help too.
-
Here we go.... Buffer command submitted at 12:32. Finally got a response at 12:37 - just as the burn had finished. It's either a threads propblem or a critical sections problem - as both come into play with the device buffer code. If you're saying it DID work when you first reinstalled XP64, do it again and this time test the machine properly as you add each piece of software that *could* mess it up.
-
Probably because your drive is so old it doesn't support the command to get the 'Current Profile' - which ImgBurn uses to identify the media in the drive. I could probably tweak it but I've had no reason to up until now - I wasn't aware of the problem because all the drives in my machines are DVD burners.
-
ImgBurn doesn't burn VCD/SVCD discs. They require 2 tracks and ImgBurn doesn't support anything other than 1.
-
The drive does actually do some stuff when you send the command to set L0 layer break position. It's not just some configuration setting that gets changed, it does some burning. If it can't burn, that's why it gets stuck. Verbatims all the way
-
Please don't hijack threads, it just confuses people (me!). Look for a firmware update for your matshita drive or buy another one - I've never seen a decent matshita drive yet.
-
The specs say the files have to have extensions and that the 'dot' should be there, that's why ImgBurn makes it so. There is an option for it NOT to do that, but it's not available in the current version. You'll have to wait for v2.2, sorry!
-
Copy and paste the full log please. You should also update to the GFS3 firmware http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2320

I had a couple of samsung drives on order from scan but they let me down and I've had to cancel my order and get them from elsewhere. I want them before I release the new one so I can try and tweak the samsung book type setting code. So yeah, as lfc said, it'll be out when it's ready
-
Yup, that's cool. This additional logging will just show us if the command is ever being sent to the drive, and then what return values we're getting back. It will help to explain why you're getting the problems you're getting.
-
The first error you get is the real one. The retries almost always give you something different. In your case, the real one is: So your drive just failed to burn to the disc. As lfc said, this is because you're using cheapo double layer media. Verbatim media might cost more but then you don't end up throwing it in the bin. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. btw, you do not need to manually specify the layer break position in the settings, put that option back on 'Automatic' and just let ImgBurn read the value from the .DVD file.
-
ImgBurn cannot be used to backup your DVD collection.
-
The log shows you didn't infact press F8 (or at least not when ImgBurn was the active application). If you had, it would say 'I/O Debug Mode Enabled!' in the log - and it doesn't. Give it another go
-
lol well that's 200 from the people at imgburn.com today alone!
-
I think you mean there WILL BE.... (it's not out yet!) It's just a very basic one that'll let you read DATA CDs and DVDs to an ISO image.
-
I believe lmao2k used ebay. I have word from SVP that the Verbs are expected back in next week.
-
Even once you've configured ImgBurn to force the 'video' files to the start of the new image, you'll still run into layer break problems unless you add an identical amount of 'data' files. This is because the program will attempt to burn equal amounts of data on each layer (a dvd is most 'compatible' when it's written that way). It's actually kinda funny that storage space means more to you than the difference in cost between single layer and double layer media! (in the UK that's about ?1.50 per disc!). Just buy a DJ case that holds 1000 discs or something - if you burn more than that, you may like to re-evaluate things anyway!
-
To be honest, I've never even thought about it... and I've certainly never measured its usage. I put controls on the various forms via the Borland development environment and just get on with the actual coding. ImgBurn pretty much runs from 1 form with multiple 'panels' on it - one for each mode. Panels get hidden when not in use and made visible when they are (I'm sure you get the idea). Looking at the app under XP etc shows it to start with about 750 ~ 800 GDI objects. I guess that's a handle for every edit box/label etc on every panel of every form - so it looks about right to me. As I've no intention of changing anything (unless it'll take 5 mins and someone tells me exactly what to do!), I guess you'll have to find another solution. Sorry!
