try one of your burned discs in someone elses dvd player to see if its your player at fault
-
Jill's nailed it for you . ImgBurn is a case of what goes in is what comes out , its down to your authoring or encoding program
-
Can you confirm that the ink/dye code hasn't been changed by the manufacturer ?( not obvious untill you check what the media ID is) the majority of modern ( recent few years) dvd players will play -R media ,so you need to eliminate the basics first , go with what Chewy said, and try some decent 8x -R media ( Taiyo yuden or verbatim), see what happens with that
-
with a decent quality media, and USB 2.0 , you should happily burn at 8x or maybe even 12x if after updating your firmware and getting a better media, you dont get above the 2x speed you've beeen getting, have a look in the FAQ page at this post HERE and do what it says

NEWBIE HERE! Question about burning VIDEO_TS
volvofl10 replied to zoomzoomr's topic in ImgBurn Support
blank media comes in 2 sizes, DV5 or DV9 DV5 is 4.3Gb and DV9 is 8.3/4 GB DV9 is also known as "dual layer" if you go for DV then only use Verbatim discs we cant and wont discuss ripping or anything related to ripping of any kind of discs ,for legal reasons im afraid -
a few things your DVD media is one of the poorest quality medisa there is , I 13:29:52 Source Media Type: DVD-R (Book Type: DVD-R) (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AE1) (Speeds: 2x, 4x, 8x) HIGHLY recomend you get better stuff, like Taiyo yuden or verbatim. the cause of your drive reporting only a few MB's is most likely down to the media being so poor quality that it cnat even be read by the drive are you burning by USB 1 or the faster USB 2 ? if its usb 1 , slow your write speed to 4x from MAX, you may hav to go even slower there's a firmware update for your plex 750a ,your on 1.02 and its upto 1.03 now v1.03 from rpc1

Well this IS the ImgBurn support forum , and most problems people encounter are when they have or are using ImgBurn, so the Support. General or Chat forums would get you an answer to these questions older players usually play +R or ROM . But its about buying players that all play everything to give complete compatability, same as buying players that will all play your favoured brand of media Theres an RB01 firmware update for that drive if its an internal one for dual layer DV9 , ONLY use verbatim , nothing else is as reliable
-
copied from the log window will do fine
-
the problem with the majority of cheaper media is the consistency of quality. you can go thru several spindles without problems, then all of a sudden BANG , everyone is an error or failure. The only way round this is to get decent media from the start , and stick with it. Slightly more expensive admittedly , but worth it in the long run. I abandoned ritekG05 within 2 weeks of its release a few years back, whereas its predecessor ritekG04 was very reliable . i went the Taiyo yuden approach and have only lost about 7 out of 600+ iscs due to faulty media. The only reason i didnt use verbatim was my standalone players wern't to keen on it

Can't enter the file name in the Destination box for ISO.
volvofl10 replied to SIMPLE_GUY's topic in ImgBurn Support
try adding .iso to the end of what you entered in the destination box so it reads C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Videos\movie.ISO the clue is in the error message -
I'd say it was the media, your drive just doesnt like it , try a decent brand like verbatim or taiyo yuden
-
Trying to write ISO to DVD, but it writes VOB instead
volvofl10 replied to TexasDuude's topic in ImgBurn Support
an ISO is an image or a container if you like. to be compliant, a DVD must have VOB's , IFO's and BUP files , if it didnt, the DVD wiouldnt play in your player. so basically, your ISO did burn and put the containers contents on the disc -
and that lfcrules chappie told me if i took my laptop to Oz it would automatically do the other side for me when i got there

i would suggest you look for a firmware update . firstly, is it a Dell machine ?? if so , search there site for updates for that drive first Its possible that your drive is actually a Benq 1650 with a phillips badge on it.If this si the case, you could try flashing it with the Benq firmware., check for verification about this before you try it though If you search the net , you will find a few instances of people using the Benq firmware . Its also worth a shot at cleaning the lense in the drive

Burning seems to stop at 92% lately - why?
volvofl10 replied to PumpkinKing's topic in ImgBurn Support
Internal laptop drives are replacable , but VERY expenxive ,you will probably get 2 external burners for the same cost as a laptop dvd drive, and as long as you ahve usb 2 , you should happily reach 8x , but stick to 8x whatever PC set up you have, its more reliable its worth doing as Chewy said above, reduce burn to 4x , or you may have to go as low as 2x ( despite what the manufacturer of the drive says it can do) also in TOOLS>SETTINGS>READ tab , check the "set read speed" and set it to say 8x for data and see if that helps. even though you errored out in the verify process, the disc may still be fully readable by a standalone dvd player -

did you have a dual layer disc (9gb)in the drive when you chose the 3 folders ? explain the scenario when this occurs ?, is it in build mode? , have you got Ib set to default settings ?, are you building to file or disc ? more info would help , your question was a bit vague

volvofl10 replied to PumpkinKing's topic in ImgBurn Support
we would still HIGHLY recomend you get better discs next time you go shopping, like verbatim or taiyo Yuden. CMC MAG are known to be very poor quality and can become unreadable very quickly -

LG super-multi with Dual layers..(Desperate!!)
volvofl10 replied to DriftaDan's topic in ImgBurn Support
you may need to wait for a firmware update from LG as they never seem to get it right first time with a new drive as for the media, it HAS to be verbatims with the MKM 001 ink/dye , nothing else is as reliable -
Les I burn dv5's at 8x all the time using firewire with an external drive with no problems whatsoever it plays with dual layer at 2.4x as well
