If you want just a simple double-click to mount an image, SlySoft's Virtual CloneDrive is the way to go.

Yes, it makes perfect sense to extend it and add the correct prompt to all type of discs. I'm verry honoured that a little suggestion of mine can improve an already great program. Thank you very much!

Happy Birthday! Have a nice sunny day and all your wishes come true!

Thanks for supporting eSkRo! In your signature ImgBurn is outdated...

Put a blank disc in the drive and switch to Device tab on the right and look for Supported Write Speeds: The program will show at what speeds can the drive burn that disc. If you select a speed that is not supported it will be burned at closest speed available, I thought that you learned it by now from post #2... Don't try anymore with that (RITEK-S04-66), it's obvious that your drive don't like them. Try some Verbatim (MKM-001-00) 2.4x or even (MKM-003-00) 8x or buy a drive that can burn those discs.

The drive don't like the discs. How many (which) of the 5 points in the link did you ruled out?

ImgBurn will not convert anything it will burn as is. To make a valid DVD Video use DVD Flick first.
-
You have to try to find if it messes up. Than you have to change something. All you can do is written in that thread I linked.
-
If the burn and verify was OK, ImgBurn has done his job perfect. We can't help further. Your problem is elsewere.
-
Keep the Verify enabled, only that way you are sure that the burn was good. You eliminated the 8x when you tryed MAX and 4x when tryed 2.4x so you left with 6x. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000

Hi, LIGHTNING UK! Here's a little story: I don't now if it was suggested before, so here it is... I've needed to make a Bootable CD, all went well, than I wanted to make a DVD Video but I forgot about the "Make Image Bootable" so in the end it came out as I don't know if this is a real problem, since the final disc plays OK. I've just saw that in the log and I know it's my fault, I should have looked better at the final image content before clicked OK. I also know that if I make a mistake in making a propper DVD Video, ImgBurn will notice me and suggest the correct adjustments. Maybe there are others like me, that not read entirely the image content or have checked "Don't Prompt Image Details" in Settings... Can you add a worning popup or something that say something like "Are you sure that you want to make this DVD Video disc Bootable?" becouse there is no need of such thing. Thank you!

Can your old Memorex DVD player play DVD DL? Look in manual for supported discs. Or Google it. Update your burner's firmware to latest SB07 http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/SH-S182D/files.html Also, update XP to SP3 unless you have a valid reason to stuck on SP2. And yes, provide a full log with burn and verify like LIGHTNING UK! asked.

Your drive don't like the disc. Please post the full log if you want more help.

Post the full log of that session. Only if you realy want help... -
Obviously, I need to learn more... I mean, heard about but not quite understand the modes/types. I make an apology if I mislead someone.

You don't need to configure nothing for a simple burn of files/folders. The default settings will work in most of the cases. Just add the files in the box, ImgBurn will take care of the configuration for you and hit the big button. Oh, if you have more than one burner you have to select the one you want to use and maybe you want to set the burn speed too... Please read the Guides.

I think you are confusing pictures (photo as .jpg, bmp, gif etc) with images (disc images as .iso, bin etc) If you have photos use the Build mode Write Files/Folders to disc. Don't know what lock are you talking you have there. Maybe a screen will help...

Laptop burners are rubbish in general at burning Dual Layer DVDs. You could try a lens cleaning disc or do it manual, it's easy at laptops. Get some Verbatim and try again. If that fail, buy yourself a normal size burner in an external enclosure.
-
You said burn but not mention about what program used to make the image so I presumed you used the same program in both cases to make the image and then burn it back with it. CloneCD uses RAW-Mode to copy to image so it could make a good image, instead with ImgBurn it could render in a defective image due to copyprotection and I think it worned you about that and you accepted.

Try again after firmware update http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GH22NS30/files.html

For short... Build is when you make a disc out from files/folders from the hard drive Write is when you burn an previously made image (exact copy of a disc) Please read the Guides especialy the Pinned.
