Try to find out exactly what this is via the sector viewer, for example. If it really is an 0x18, then ImgBurn is reading it OK. If it's actually 0x98, then you might have a reading issue with the drive emerging (or a memory issue).
The fact that it is exactly 1 bit different (bit 3) is what might give cause for LUK to suggest memory issues.

After a bit of investigation it seems to be the "Royale" theme it does it with but not the normal XP theme.
