  1. I 11:32:00 Average Write Rate: 879 KB/s (0.6x) - Maximum Write Rate: 985 KB/s (0.7x)

Check your DMA, link in my sig.

    I 10:43:17 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x, 18x)

Your choice of media isn't good, we only suggest Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.

  2. BTW, I noticed this same behavior in BUILD mode when adding a VIDEO_TS folder and clicking the calculator...the progress bar gives the impression that it isn't done, possibly because of the moving shadowing.

It works the same in build mode too....nothing actually happens until you start your project.

  3. Looks like you are getting plenty of support there too :(

    I don't think the 5200 is a rebadged Lite-On or L&D wouldn't be supplying modified firmware for it ~ http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/Optiarc-AD-5200A/

I don't remember the 5200 getting much praise in it's hay day, but the 7200 has recieved a lot of attention as you can see. Also the 7200 are getting hard to find in the states at the usual spots and I would look for them to be hard to find world over soon. I'm surprised the 5200's can still be found. I personally wouldn't get anything less than a 7200, but that is just my opinion.

Same hardware as seen below :

  4. Matshita DVD RAM UJ-846S is very picky drive....it dislikes Nero, mostly gives an error with it.....works great with image burn.....don't know why.

It's rare to see Matshita drives working at all. >_<

Am new to burning, just burnt a few Data, ISO & mp3 Audio till now.

If that is all you are doing, then Imgburn is all you need.

  5. To add to Cynthia's post. Nero (or whatever other burning program you're comfortable with) might still be required if you need to burn multisession discs since ImgBurn isn't capable of doing that. That aside however ImgBurn can do everything Nero can.

Multisession isn't supported at this time.

Also if you need lightscribe capabilities you'll need another software set.

  6. Ok. But what about the 7.71 GB ISO?

DVD Rebuilder should handle it nicely...

And I ask again: layer break -user specified or "calculate optimal"?

    Take your pick...I post again ~ http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=1780

You are choosing the MDS file to burn from, which you should, and it (should) contains the proper layer break information.

because I read somewhere that for XBOX the layer break sectors shold be 1913760 (sa that the XBOX can read the DVD).

This is the first we've heard about XBOX issues....you have to set the layer break at 1913760 or you are pissing in the wind and wasting a disc regarding Xbox. Movies you can use the preview to select the best layer break position so that you don't get a 'jump' in a action sequence or whot not.

Can anyone tell me what the value is?

There is no magic number for movies.

Did anyone burned a 7 GB movie on a dual layer with no problem?

Did the DVD PLAYER read the DVD from begining to end?
