Layer break position when burning DVD-R DL media in DAO mode ?
kevdriver replied to j0kk3's topic in ImgBurn Support
jokk3, I'm not familiar with games at all but Img is a burning program and not a ripper program. It won't "backup" your games for you. It can read unprotected images off your HD and build a proper image to burn to a DL blank though. We can't help you with the backingup part of your needs. Search! around and see what you find. -
Once you get that new drive up and running try the burn again and let us know whats happening.
-
Topster, first off there is new firmware for your plextor: Plextor 740 A Secondly, those Riteks your using are iffy discs. As of late, the ritek quality has fallen by the wayside. Verbatim are the way to go -R for SL and +R for DL. Taio Yudens are also excellent media if you can readily find them.
-
It wouldn't be unheard of for a drive to be on its way out after 14 months. This is just a supposition though and one of the other guys may have other options to help you. What other burning software do you have on your laptop, windv, etc........
-
How old is this laptop burner?
-
dvd-girl, apparently you do have the lastest firmware for your drive: TS-L532B Could you do another burn and then post the log of the burn so we can see whats happening. As lfc said, was the above info taken after a burn? Throw a fresh blank disc into your drive>open Img>copy and paste the info from the window on the right. PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D 1.29 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD-R Disc Information: Status: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 2,298,496 Free Space: 4,707,319,808 bytes Free Time: 510:48:46 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x Pre-recorded Information: Manufacturer ID: SONY16D1 Recording Management Area Information: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D This will give us more info.

oh, now thats real Corny Dave ! ( But they are great aren't they )

Hetster, This is why your being asked to post a complete log of a failed burn/verify. These logs include lots of info that could show why your verifys aren't 100%. I have the same burner as you so I too am interested in what may be causing this problem for you.....
-
my mistake hetster, its in the guides section.
-
hetster, check out the FAQ section of forum. Cornholio 7 has an excellent guide on there with pics which should answer your question.

Use Img in Build mode to build a correct image that you can burn to a dual layer media. Then use write mode in Img to burn that image to a blank media. For more info check out the F&Q for info on your question.

ekikos, As Coopervid stated, that may be one problem, but seeing as this is Imgburn support forum, wouldn't it be more advantagous to go the the support forum for Alcohol 120 as this is the program your using to burn with. , or perhaps use Imgburn to try and burn your image.

If you could post a log from the failed burn-verify it would be helpful. This drive appears to be a rebaged Panasonic. After searching around its apparent its not a very good drive at all. There is no firmware updates available for it and it appears to not even be supported by it vendor. A lot of people besides yourself are having problems with this drive. Its too early to say for sure yet, but maybe its time for a new drive. Perhaps one of the others wtll be able to find out more about your problem then I have.
-
Beard, first off theres new firmware for your drive.... 1.41 www.rpc1.org You should update to the lastest available for your burner. I would say that your verifying problems come from using bad media but you are using tys so could you please post a log of the failed burn-verify so the guys can have a closer look at whats happening. help>img logs>copy and paste. Thanks

zxspectrum, No worries, Around here we like to run a laid back but informative forum. Alot of ribbing goes on so you really have to be able to take it as well as give it.................. . No offense is ever ment, just good natured joking around.
-
Its not a matter or Imgburn supporting your writer, it supports all writers. Its a matter of your writer be able to burn successfully to blank media. DVD+R (Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00) (Speeds: 4x, 8x, 12x, 16x) These discs are absolute garbage. We reccommend Verbatim or Taio Yudens for successful burns. -R for SL burning and +R for dual layer burning. You may also like to check your firmware out www.rpc1.org The most current is LL11

That was an exceptionally good buy, bought 6/20 cakeboxes of them. They also had 50 cakebox of the Verbs Sl on sale for 18$, bought 4 of those as well. Never know when a deal like that might come around again.

I do have to agree with lfc, That was a little too much Pain Man. I think a little more self refrainment could have been used here. Have a little respect for the Boss, as this is his forum, if for no one else.

I love you, if I wasn't so old I would offer to have your children. I didn't use the name Stupido for nothing. I can't believe I didn't think of something so obvious.
