Uncompatible medium usually means your burner doesn't like the type or dye on the discs your using. I am a bit confused now - have you tried other discs ??

I would wait for Lightning UK! to read this and advise if any of the tabs can be used for Pioneer drives. On mine (NEC) I select change for media type DVD+R DL, then in the next drop down menu I select DVD-Rom as the book type
