  1. I use ImgBurn for all my burning needs with the exception of .mp3's and music CD backups, for those I use Windows Media Player No issues here.
  2. So many happy people, hopefully a few donations might be sent to Lightning UK! !!!
  3. ImgBurn is good like that - you might even want to make a donation to Lightning UK!
  4. Sounds like the previous owner installed some modded fw for their own use and then sold it on with that on the drive. You should, depending on the fw installed be able to go back the manufacturers fw tho, sometimes the fw update program doesn't recognise the drive because of the modded fw but until you give it a go you won't know. Worst that will happen is that it just won't update the fw, the drive will be ok as long as you follow the normal precautions. If you're not sure what to do there is a link in my signature to a mini fw update guide posted by Shamus, take a look at that
  5. You may get some ok burns from those discs but Verbatim as you now know are far more reliable.....
  6. Oh be fair blu - every now and then one might burn ok and last for a couple of weeks
  7. Keep an eye on the Ritek DL's the only successful burn I ever got with those died and was unplayable within a month or two
  8. Yeah. it's not like we have ever tried to hide our insanity is it ?
  9. You're telling me polo !! Looks like they have no idea about stock rotation !!
  10. Check out the Drives/Media section of this forum, it's very easy to see why we recommend Taiyo Yudens and Verbatims over CMC MAG dyes....
  11. But you may still struggle - as donta said those discs are not very good at all, if you want to burn reliably to DVD+R DL you need to get Verbatim DVD+R DL discs as these are the only ones worth the money
  12. 12x on all my quality media, 8x for discs that are not the best As the boss said tho get a few of your discs burnt at different speeds and then scan them - see what speed your media/drive can handle best.
  13. So donta has proved that CMC's make lovely red colours on your graphs and that even Verbatim DL's should be burnt above 2.4x !!
  14. Yep it sounds like you have the burning part sorted
  15. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1740 Link to firmware is above
  16. Whoa you say you just bought that drive ? It's a fair few years old now, I have the 2510 that polo mentioned above but it's in honourable retirement at present following several years hard work.
  17. lol ! Your right arm looks very developed donta, been using it extensively have you ??? ;D

  18. All my players have always played DVD+R without hassles but it is a good point
  19. I think he may be trying to use winrar to compile the .iso (archive in this case) from the post above....
  20. db might as well chuck in all the hardware he has murdered over the years then eh polo ?
