  1. Pioneers like SATA models 215, 216, 217 should work nicely.
  2. Try to search the MSI web page, if there is one, it should be on their web page.
  3. Aha, thought you should just move the current burner.
  4. A firmware flasher that works in Vista should work also for XP.
  5. Tried to reflash the burner with the same firmware again?
  6. I guess you updated the firmware, as you have the latest one, is that the original one?
  7. If you use the read mode and put in one of those DL disc - can you post the information in the right window (the disc info part).
  8. Could be worth a try. I doubt it will work.
  9. Hi and welcome to the forum, stoneyman! I have one of those burners and DL works here. How is it attached SATA/IDE? You get any message in the lower part of the programs info panel?
  10. If there is warranty left perhaps a warranty replacement could be done?
  11. Might be time to get a new burner.
  12. Try the 6x and 8x write speeds. If that also fails - try another brand of media (with another media code (Disc ID)).
  13. There is a later firmware version 1.06. http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GSA-H55L/files.html 4x is the lowest speed with that combination of media/firmware/burner.
  14. Can ImgBurn find the burner at all? Tried to reflash it again? No errors during the flash?
  15. Did you restart the computer?
  16. You are using the best media on the market. So media can be ruled out. The other two parameters are firmware update and change in write speed. You only have one write speed to play with (2.4x). It's an old burner so it could need a cleaning. I doubt that will help. Older Lite-Ons are notoriously tricky to burn double layer discs with.
  17. It wouldn't hurt to try. I doubt it will work. Might also wanna try to clean the laser head with a cleaning disc. If you still get burning errors after the firmware update + cleaning, get a new burner.
  18. There is a later firmware version. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/SOHW-1633S/files.html 2.4x is the only write speed with the firmware you used before. The first part of the log failed. You then tried to use the same disc as before and that didn't worked as it was already been used. Older Lite-Ons can be tricky to burn double layer discs with.
  19. Try to update the firmware. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/SH-S202N/files.html 4x is the lowest possible speed.
  20. I'm not a big fan of certain brand of burners. Bought some of those in the past and they all ended up in that place.
  21. Both I and the author uses VCD and no issues found. You'll find the latest version of VCD here: http://forum.slysoft.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21 I used Neros tool in the past, but for some reason it's gone in later versions of the Nero suite.
  22. Hi and welcome to the forum, billcarter! You could have downloaded it for free. This program can't deal with copy protections. You have been scammed - try to get your money back.
