  1. There is a later firmware version - ST02. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/SH-S223Q/files.html Tried to connect the burner to another SATA connector on the mother board? Latest chip set drivers installed?
  2. Might give you some clues if you look in the Swedish translation.
  3. You need to install a DVD burner if you want to burn DVD discs.
  4. Where the preview starts - is the start of the next layer.
  5. The best one from the viewing point is the one where there is a "natural" switch in the movie - like a camera angel switch. Found anything in the preview window that looks good? If your player supports it - the seamless option should make the "break" invisible when you watch it, despite where you put the break.
  6. Tested once to trigger the "waiting for had disk activity to slow down" and got those messages during the whole burn of a DVD Movie single layer disc. The burn took ages to perform - but I couldn't spot any play back issues on that burn.
  7. You did this: Start DVD Shrink Press the Re-author button Select tab 'DVD Browser' Browse to the folder where the VTS_01 is located
  8. One of the easiest way of doing this is to start the program you mentioned in your post and hit the re-author button. Then browse/load the VTS_01 and output your "project" to a hard disk/disc and then "The Program" will create the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUP files for you and you have your compliant DVD Movie.
  9. (ATAPI) Isn't there some setting in the BIOS to set the value to IDE?
  10. Put a blank disc in the burner and select write mode - you should see the available speeds in the right part of the window. Recent burners should work nice with 8x DL media. Most times you have 2.4x and 4x as options for 2.4x media. No idea what speeds that works best.
  11. Wonder why it works for others...
  12. Someone posted that it might be a QSI based burner. Auto is the right one to have enabled. Sure it's not book typing it already? Post a burning log if you are unsure.
  13. Hi and welcome to the forum, dalonegun! It might be a rebadged burner (not a true Optiarc). On the other hand it might be that ImgBurn book types it for you. In this thread - the same burner and book type is active. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6940 You have the setting 'Auto change book type' enabled in the write tab in the Settings?
  14. You need to use the write mode and load the M:\Image.bin file.
  15. You need to find media that have media codes in your burners firmware that supports 2x speed. Why is it vital to burn at 2x?
  16. 8x will not help. It will fall back on the 6x write speed. You only have 4x or 6x to play with. Get a new burner that likes those discs or try with Verbatims as they seems to be liked by most burners. My Pioneers like that media.
  17. Same as before. Your burner don't like that brand of media. You also used 6x write speed in post #1.
  18. A common error when the burner doesn't like the media you are using. A firmware update might work.
  19. Tried the 4x write speed?
  20. The "optimal" burning speed = best quality varies from burner model to burner model. I couldn't find any updates for your burner. If you know how to use a screw driver - you should also be able to replace a burner.
  21. Hi and welcome to the forum, numbedaway! These are the write speeds that your combination of burner/firmware/media allows for. So it's not possible to burn at 2.4x speed. I doubt your playback problems are caused by this issue. IMHO the lowest write speed = best burn quality is a myth. Post a burning log - it might show something. I guess your friend has another burner?
  22. Hi and welcome to the forum, Chevytec49! We are not allowed to discuss circumventing copy protections in this forum, as it's UK based. You might need a double layer disc if the project is to big to fit on a single layer disc. Does your burner support double layer disc?

    help

Same odd info stuff if you use a regular non RW disc? There is a later firmware version for that burner. http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GSA-H55L/files.html
  24. If you try to burn to a non RW (rewritable media) - you get the same error? "Device Not Found - No reference position found."
