  1. When you are in that read mode, can you see something in the disc info window in the right panel window? If so, copy it.
  2. I don't think that is a solution. Old burners will most certainly not support your 'modern' media like the Disc ID: RICOHJPN-D01-67 very good. Why is it important to burn at 2x?
  3. If you switch to read mode, can it show the disc info then?
  4. There is a later firmware for that drive. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/DH-16A6S/files.html The lowest possible speed is 2.4x.
  5. I've gotten that issue when the burner has problems with discs. Try to update the firmware and select another write speed than max speed (=16x). You can try with 4x, 8x, 12x. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/SH-S183L/files.html
  6. I have two players that refuses to play DVD Video +R DL discs and one that only plays those discs. But they are not JVC branded. One day I will get a new nice player, I just need the time to take a bunch of burned discs and go to a shop and spend some time trying to play them and watch the frustration of the seller.
  7. Same burners, except that the 7241 can do LightScribe and DVD-RAM. The first one should be lower in price due to that. If you don't need the extras, get the cheaper one.
  8. $890.00 The reason that I've not included it in the guide is that I don't have one of those machines.
  9. No. You can only select cells, not frames. So your only options for the layer break is the star rated rows. 50/50 or a/b a=50% on layer 0 b=50% on layer 1

One free tool to be used is this one. http://www.dvdflick.net/
  11. In the video area, you can only select cells as the layer break divider with ImgBurn. If you want a specific frame you need to split the current cell into two cells and the frame you want to use as layer break is to be the split point. You can't do this in ImgBurn so you need an external tool first, like VobBlanker.
  12. Hight light the row you want to use as layer break and click OK. If the layer break is in the DVD Video part (inside of the VOB files) - it's a grey star rating. Padding low or high? Theoretically a high number of padding sectors should take the laser head longer time to jump over. In practice I can't say I've seen that happen.
  13. 1. True. 2. Sounds as you don't use the log window. There are tons of info in that log window. ImgBurn reports this if you select an unsupported write speed. 2x wanted, but only 2.4x supported. You also see the actual used write speed if you look in the last rows of a log - in the area on how long time the burn took. It also reports the average and max speed. 3. No. If the firmware/drive doesn't support a lower speed, it's not possible to force it to burn slower.
  14. There is a later version of the program. Old programs might have issues. Latests chip set drivers for the USB channels installed?
  15. Are they just not grey? If so, pick one that is around 50/50 and where the switch is natural (pre play it and find the best layer break). If your stand alone player supports it, select seamless and you won't notice the layer break.
  16. There is a later firmware version http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/SH-S203N/files.html Is that RW disc scratched/fingerprinted? Same issue if you use another disc?
  17. Most new high speed burners don't allow for lower speeds these day. It's a restriction in the firmware of the burner so you can't do anything about it. Lowest speed is not always the best speed to use. I have the same drive and 6x with that media gives me the best results. The low verify speed is due to a bug in the current version of ImgBurn for that particular drive. It sets the verify speed to the same as you selected as the write speed. Next version will get you up to speed.
  18. The same ones as I use, if they are under the Verbatim label. So they should be ok. I also have the same drive as you and they work here. I also have OPC enabled as you do. Have you tried another speed than 16x, like 8x? Could be something wrong with the burner as you have another SATA burner that work and that should rule out any setup issues in the computer (like drivers).
  19. Assuming that the Verbatims are not from China I would try to clean the laser head. If that also fails, replace the burner.
  20. .The times I get this error is when the burner doesn't like the discs or the write speed. As you now have tried all possible write speeds, I think it's safe to say that your burner doesn't like the media code (Disc ID: CMC MAG-D03-64), so get some discs with another media code.
  21. The times I get this error message It's because the burner don't like the discs or the combination of write speed and discs. If you have burned the same discs at 2.4x before and that worked, it could be that laser head needs a cleaning with a cleaning disc. Another possibility is that the burner is broken. 4x write is also supported with that media, so that could be worth a try. Have you tried to burn another image? You can use Notepad to see the layer break value in E:\XXXX\XXXX\XXXXXXXXXXX\XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\XXXX.dvd if there should be something odd there.
