  1. You need the nvidia chipset driver just not the storage/ide driver (in most case the nvidia storage driver causes issues) well it does on all my nforce chipset motherboards
  2. Are you using the nvidia storage driver ? If so get rid of it and use standard ms driver BTW wherever you bought it can you not log into your account and print another invoice ? Or if you paid for it using a credit or debit card use that as receipt and rma drive either back to retailer or Sony/Nec

  4. official 1.04 http://www.sonynec-optiarc.eu/uploads/kV/g..._104_080415.ZIP
  5. Clean the lens with one of those CD cleaning disc's and check to see if your using Made in India Verbatim. If they are MIS verbs then ask your retailer to take them back and swap them over for Verbatim made in Singapore.
  6. http://rapidshare.com/files/117515997/flash2benq1620.rar download above, extract it to folder, take any disc out of your Philip's drive and close tray. Run bqflasher and select your drive at top then load in firmware b7w9 then when you make sure you have selected right drive from top press the flash button and do not switch off or open drive until it says completed etc. Once it says finished reboot your PC. At your own risk Or buy a new dvd writer as yours is getting on a bit now.
  7. You could maybe crossflash to benq1620 with bqflasher and the latest firmware for 1620 which is B7W9. This may be a way to get your drive to recognise more media with proper write speeds.
  8. Amd/Ati driver may well be responsible. The default for vista (as it has many more drivers @base than xp did may have installed the Amd ide as default) If that is the case look for an updated version.
  9. The reason I linked to rapidshare was someone else wanted the firmware as well and it was already upped. I also have an issue with the computer I was on last night whereby I could not get the link from samsung's site to link to. You are right though about not wanting to use what you could deem as untrustworthy files however as Mmalves pointed out a fellow Beta team member is not going to give you a dodgy file. I would never knowingly give out a dodgy file. Anyways remove the amd driver for ide and let windows use Ms one see if that helps if it does not work there is nothing you can do but install again using a different set of drivers and latest bios
  10. what you on about from an unofficial source. It's from me, I upped it to rapidshare the firmware is a release from samsung. You been smokin weed :& Tools / filter driver load order AMD 690V chipset then, try removing the ide storage driver and use standard ms one . Or reinstall put chipset drivers in but not the storage driver.
  11. SB01 http://rapidshare.com/files/117347287/SH-S203P_SB01.exe Also I would say IMO your issue is not related to that exact hotfix it's probably your sata controller/drive/driver issue. I have a couple of of samsung burners one of which is sata and I get issues with one of my computers with it. I think samsung sata writers are a little flawed or better put rather troublesome with certain mobo chipsets etc. Which motherboard do you have ? post the filter drivers from ImgBurn help menu. Capture a screen shot from device manager to show ide/sata controllers
  12. From the KB article you posted link to SYMPTOMS When you try to burn a disc on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, the burn fails. Additionally, you may experience symptoms that resemble either of the following:
  13. Which chipset is in your external enclosure and post log files as asked no one can help without them
  14. Oops you say you tried the liteon
  15. no thanks and it's only really supposed to affect sata really according to M$ What do your upper and lower filters look like
  16. works for me using the replacer I attached in xp 32bit drag the old atapi into replacer window after you run replacer then press enter till it asks you to drag new version in you might need to delete the atapi.sys from system32/dllcache first Or just install service pack 3
  17. You just need this atapi.rar extract it and copy atapi.sys into system32/drivers you will more than likely have to do this in safe mode or extract replacer and run the file and then drop original system file into window and press enter then drag the one you want to replace that with into window and reboot if asked Replacer.zip
  18. You should maybe consider updating your firmware in that drive I would post link to firmware on Lg site but they are using javashit so i uploaded it here for you http://rapidshare.com/files/116844872/GSA-H54N_1.02.rar No disc in tray and tray closed and read the readme Get some better disc's when you get things sorted Verbatim MCC or Taiyo Yuden TYG02 or 03
  19. you would need to encode the files to MPEG as it looks like you got an AVI file or you need a dvd player that plays divx/xvid/mp4 etc (your computer will play file as you have seen cos it can playback that type of file) google avi to dvd or search on here for a program to use
  20. Do you know which chipset controls your ide on motherboard. Try changing the ide to another 80 wire one and update motherbaord ide storage driver
  21. Replace your drive it's cheaper than replacing failing media. Btw my pioneer 105 is fine in xp sp3 and ImgBurn.
  22. Pioneer 111/112/115 are a good choice for 360 backups with Verbatim media made in Singapore
  23. I assumed when you said recording you had a device that hooked up to TV like a DVD recorder to record shows. you said when your RW were full you wanted to copy them to DVD-r (so sorry I misunderstood your post) still not sure I follow what your doing especially as you then say you convert them. Why not convert them all then use build mode to burn data disc when you have enough to fill a -r As long as whatever format your converting them to can then be played back on a device you have that is capable of playing whatever you converted them to.
  24. Change media MBI media is not the best and causes the kind of issues you are having. Also update the drives firmware if there is a newer one than 1.03 Also check out the FAQ on DMA issues and follow the advice given to remove controller etc but mainly change your media FIRST and update firmware
  25. Your welcome. Remember when you come to do a clean install stay away from the Nfarce Ide/Storage drivers
