  1. The 1655 will overspeed almost anything, although not always successfully, which is compliant with their comments about only working on certain media. I has some dollar store media, made in china, code of AN32, utter garbage. Rated at 4X, and actually works at that speed, although probably is only readable for a few weeks. I tried 1 at 16X, the burner was game, but it shat itself writing the lead in. Tried again at 8X, burned and verified, but not readable on standalone players.

    A Top 11 List

I still don't miss typing in code for 8 hours creating a game that sucked ass, then saving it onto a cassette! which took 8 minutes to save and or load, then when you go back the next day to try the game once more thinking it can't be all that bad after that much time put into it, only to find it harsed up and didn't save. Fuck that.

WTF is a soap box anyway? Is it similar to an apple box? It's obviously sturdy enough to support a windbag, made of wood? and who the hell buys soap by the box to get the damn thing anyway?
  4. I don't know what to say, we live in a fucked up world, and someone left the asylum gate open again.
  5. 12. A collegue from work sent it. (This method has been tried & verified to not work at all )
  6. Tried out the new firmware with a TYG02, got a quality rating of 87% , scanned with InfoPro and the Plex. Is there a "workaround" to get the 1655 to scan with InfoPro LFC?
  7. Merry Christmas DB!! erm, Happy Birthday!! Watch a good zombie flick to celebrate!!

They're declaring a minority Conservative government. This should make it interesting. Right now Canada is enjoying a strong economy, and with all the checks and balances a minority government has, no one party should fuck that up .

"Hitting the poles" We also use this term if one is required to work in a pealer bar for some fast cash
  10. Probably more along the lines of meat pies, to quote Cartman, "Bad Kitty! That's my chicken pot pie..." "Respect my a-thor-i-ta!"
  11. Nice , due to court order I haven't flashed much since the "incident", but perhaps it's time for the trenchcoat to re-appear .
  12. I'm anxious to try it out when I get home from work. I'm not impressed with the results w/ BCAB at all.
  13. The scene from MP's "Life of Brian" jumps into my head, where the women are all dressed as men in order to go to the stoning , I expect a good pair of trainers were in order, eh Ken ?
  14. New firmware out there for the 1655 released on the 20th, see it here. Does anyone know if it matters which drive you have, oem or retail? ie will firmware cause a retail drive to loose it's added functionality, or for that matter make an oem equal?
  15. Fook me, those are expensive coasters. Dumb-ass thing about -DL's in Canada, they're still about $6 each, twice that of Verb +DL's, and the fact they seem unusable makes them due for a quick and deserved death. Anybody tried burning two different video files on one? ie One on each layer(burned at once obviously), or is it completely impossible to set the layer break on them?

    Election Day

We're hitting the poles here today, and I'm sure no one gives a shit but us Canucks ! The minority Liberal government we've had for the past 18 months fell to a non-confidence vote late last November which triggered todays election. The Liberal party has been in power for the last 12 years, but the word on the street is that the Conservative party will win with a minority gov., possibly even a slim majority. Whatever the outcome, I don't expect big changes, with the possible exception of relations with our big neighbor to the south, who've made it clear they'd like to be rid of the Libs and have a more like minded party in power. I'll update the results when they're in, I know you all will be on the edge of your computer chairs waiting !
  17. Hmm, not good seeing a huge variance like that from a "good" company like Verb. Nothing else is going on in the background? How do they look if burned at 16X?
  18. I'm not too sure I like the cut of this Norman's jib. Sounds like he has the gypo curse .
  19. My bad , I thought Chewy had posted some scans here that I wasn't seeing, I didn't catch on he was referring to the posts in the Media section. Strangely enough Ricoh DL's are now more money than Verbs in Canada, so they are not worth playing with IMO. For a short time when media prices started crashing here, Ricoh +DL's were considerably cheaper than Verbs and were worth considering as a decent substitute IMO(although not equal). Now Verb +DL's can be had for $3.00CAD($2.60US) each (non-printable, printable are still about $5), where as Ricohs are about $.25 more, and if that continues I won't be replacing my small inventory of them.
  20. I don't see a scan? I've had good luck with Ricoh DL's and a Plex 716.

  22. Shot a deer (legally) with #4 buckshot as a youth, nasty nasty. Have to be close, but if you are, you don't need to be a good shot.
  23. Girlfriends Jeep was recovered 4 months ago, 14 months after being stolen. Was found sitting in an airport parking lot, all her shite still in it, most importantly my lawnmower bag was still there .
