    DL Media Tests

You can find non-Verbatim but MCC made +DL's cheaper in Canada also, the trade being some companies don't offer as good a warranty as Verbatim. Some folks at another forum are complaining about Verbatims recent quality, but it may depend where you are in the world. Apparently part of Europe is now getting Verbs made in India, which have mixed reviews. Some love 'em, others hate 'em. Ultimately we just have to go with what we know works. On another note, make sure you change the booktype to dvdrom on all +DL's you burn.
  2. How cheap are you finding ink carts for LFC? The best I've found is $45 CAD for a set, not that cheap.
  3. ImgBurn is being updated for new burners, media etc, the other is not, so it's your best bet for burning. Your brothers computer will work for burning, it just won't be fast.
  4. No, you would still be limited by the cd media. You would have more options if you had a dvd burner & blank dvd media. I don't know your financial situation, but very good dvd burners are easily bot for $45US.
  5. That program would create a file that can only be used on dvd's, not cd's. I think both spinningwheel & I were under the assumption initially that you had a dvd burner, in which case that program would have worked well. I have successfully created a couple SVCD's, but I did them on some software that came with my videocard, not freeware, which is why I'm not confusing the issue by mentioning them.
  6. As you are restricted to Cd's, IMO a SVCD would work fine for what you want to do. Here's a link to a guide, I have NOT used that program however, and won't vouch for it. Perhaps someone else who burns svcd's can post some other advice.
  7. Any time
  8. For TYG02 & TYG03's full face printables I use 25mm inner, and 117mm outer. If you have some media your unsure of, use a ruler, measure the inner and outer, I subtract a mm from the outer measurement, and add a mm to the inner to prevent it printing off the disc. I have it set at best photo if I remember right.
  9. Your right pennyman, labels cause a lot of problems and should be avoided. Printing onto a a printable disc is a very good option, and won't negatively impact a dvd. I personally use an Epson R200, and highly recommend this inexpensive printer.

    DL Media Tests

To the best of my knowledge and research, and I stand to be corrected, there are only 3 approved manufacturers of DL media, Ricoh, Ritek & Mitsubishi Chemicals. All three of these are sold under numerous different brand names. Ritek's DL's are widely considered as very poor, Ricoh's are a little less talked about, some people don't like them because they're not "Verbatim" , but I think those people are secretly on Verbs payroll . To answer your question quowangerup, Mitsubishi makes Verbatims DL's, which are excellent, and are the best from my personal testing, with Ricohs being a very decent alternative, and at almost half the price they become even more interesting. And don't be so hard on yourself LFC, your not boring
  11. Well put Spinningwheel , a more appropriate response than the snotty reply I was considering. @Hobbes, I googled your player and it doesn't play divx, but will play wma's, so that's another option for you when reading spinningwheels link. Neither of your posts indicate the size of your avi file, which should dictate which video format you go with. You also don't say whether you have a DVD burner or not, you just mention CDR's, if you only have a CD burner, SVCD is probably your best option.
  12. Let the good times roll...
  13. I forgot to compliment you on your mullet LFC, very "80's".
  14. Woger, you wapscallion!! How's Biggus & Incontinetia Buttocks?
  15. This old dog just learned something new
  16. Like LFC says, I can't see there being any difference in printing DL's or SL's.
  17. If your desay? dvd player plays divx, you can burn your avi file as is, and it should work. If not, you'll need to convert it to a file readable by your player before burning. What exactly is a desay dvd player? I assume you have dvd burner?
  18. I like conspiracy theories, and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
  19. Good question, one I don't have the answer too. I'd check it on a standalone player instead of your computer, if you verify after burning you'll know whether your comp. can read it or not. If you have a standalone player that doesn't have a buffer, you'll almost always notice a slight stutter at the layer break, even on pressed discs. Buffered players will prevent the stutter, so "finding" the LB on one of them is hard/impossible. If someone knows a way to find the LB in terms of actual time elapsed/remaining, that would obviously be easiest.
  20. What's your static ground strap hooked too LFC , don't get any memory caught in your crack
  21. Surely someone out there can give us a laugh with some story of a misspent youth? We'll think no less of you, I promise. Toad Smokers
  22. I suspect it won't fly, as that would negate selling your game, which is not only a protected right in most countrys, but would also devalue the games immensely before their even sold. I would bet most people won't buy a game for more than $15 if it has zero resale value, so their hopes of selling at $50-70 would be crushed, plus all those second hand game retailers would take them to task legally as well. And I third the motion, if it is that way, no PS3 for me, I'll switch to fucking Gates' XBox.
  23. I was wondering what those bright flashes were....
  24. We call it shotgunning beer in Western Canada, and I ermm, won't say why I know that. It's probably a good thing we have no smokeable toads in Canada, we wouldn't get anything done . BTW, is it any good(the toad fags that is)?
  25. Who molested which monkey? And why do they have pictures?
