I had to give one when I registered. If I remember correctly you didn't have to register unless you wanted access to the pictures you uploaded.

You're probably right. Oh well...they'll never get throught to my email again.

I've never tried Shoutcast (I will take a look at it.) so I can't dispute what you've said about comparing it but I am using Firefox with it and am having no problems. I have popups blocked and can access my stations. The site is free unless you want to subscribe.

I received seven pieces of spam today all of them through the keyed email address I gave to Image Shack. I just tried to go there and found that it's not there. I don't know if it was hacked, shutdown or whatever but I do know that you will probably going to get spammed. I have just shut down the keyed address. Now everything going to it will bounce. It now seems that the site is back up. I will not, however, activate the key again.

It really doesn't have anything to do about being patient. While the disc is being written to I am either doing my paperwork on my other computer, watching TV, reading a newspaper or doing something else. The same here. The first 3 or 4 burns were on Maxells made by RiTek/RiData and I had nothing but problems with them. After that I switched to Verbatims.

I've always believed in buring slow. I burn my DVD5 discs at 4x and my DL's at 2.4. I know it takes a lot more time but it's not like I am standing around waiting for the burns to finsh. The bottom line is that I have had darn near 100% success rate in over 1200 burns.

The following is from the beginning of the patent application. Abstract An apparatus (270) and method is disclosed for preventing a viewer from switching from a channel when an advertisement is being displayed on the channel. The apparatus (270) and method comprises an advertisement controller (270) in a video playback device (150) that (1) prevents a viewer of a direct (non-recorded) broadcast from switching channels when an advertisement is displayed, and (2) prevents a viewer of a recorded program from fast forwarding the recorded program in order to skip past advertisements that were recorded with the program. A viewer may either watch the advertisements or pay a fee in order to be able to change channels or fast forward when the advertisements are being displayed. Read the full application here.
