ampersand; Happy Holidays and welcome to the forum. ImgBurn is NOT a ripper, it is strictly a burning program. For legal reasons, that I will not go into here, we DO NOT discuss ripping or any form of copying media that you do not own the INTELLECTUAL rights to. Meaning that if you bought, rented, borrowed or somehow gained posession of a dvd that you did not author, we will not assist you in making a copy, fair-use laws or not. You can find the information that you need by using a good search engine and typing in what you want to do. I would suggest Google as your starting place. If you have a problem using IB to burn whatever info/data you have on your hdd please feel free to ask a question...or several...and we'll help you get what you need done, as long as you do not refer to any type of ripping/shrinking program or other prohibited activity in your post.

The NEC is a very good machine. I'm still using an old 1100 as a backup in the server and it works excellently. I haven't owned/used an I/O but I'd put my money into the NEC if that's the choices available. Merry Christmas.

I can see the other ones but not one in your post mate.... Nver mind...I was looking at the wrong one. Gotup too early this AM and had a flood under the kitchen sink. Spent all morning replacing anything that carries water... ...Thought I had it fixed yesterday and woke up to a whole new set of problems....... ...Now my damned fish tank has IC and I'm trying to get it under control...AGAIN. Too many valuable fins to risk a whole new infection cycle. #39;( #39;( #39;(

IB is not a cpu intensive program by any stretch of the imagination, you can see the scans section and see how much of the cpu is used for any and all of the burns made and recorded there. So therefore something else must be running in the background that uses your clock cycles in addition to IB. Anydvd is a program that will stay memory resident and run in the background while you are running any other file reading program. You have to disable it or it will try to do its' thing while any other program is trying to read files; thereby using cpu power to accomplish its mission. We recommend that you make sure that ANY other program is not running while you burn a disk. You can find a very good process and program killer here: Enditall 2 Scroll to the bottom of the page after reading the info and install the program and you should be fine. I have used it since it was introduced and it will not interfere with any necessary background system programs, but will shut off or kill any you don't need. Added: While it's tempting to try and run other applications while burning, it's not a recommended practice unless you have a lot of additional ram in your system. A burn takes 6-8 minutes and there really is no reason, with all the other things that can go wrong, to make a less than perfect copy because you can't wait a few minutes.....

Doing some quick Googling indicates that the Samsung drive clears the booktype every tme the drive tray ejects. Apparently the Nero product issues the command to book type before every burn. I do not know if IB issues the command every time or only once through the burn process, we'll have to wait for the Boss to look at this one.

Off branded, mis-branded and/or faked media is always of questionable reliability. Some disks may be made correctly and others may be pure scrap, therefore some work for a while and others fail right out of the burner. The difference in price between the premium brands Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim DataLifePlus vs. other crap branded material is not that great to begin with, and when you add in the cost of all the disks that you originally paid for that will fail right from the beginning, bargain branded disks will always cost you more than the premium data disks we recommend/use here. -

Just read this...The DC5 were my favorite band during the whole British Invasion period of the 60's, so I figured I'd pass it on. Dec 18, 2006. LONDON: Denis Payton, the sax player in the Dave Clark Five, has died after a long struggle with cancer, Clark's office said Monday. He was 63. Payton died Sunday in Bournemouth in southern England, said John Roberts of Clark's office. Payton appeared on all the group's records, and also played guitars, harmonica and sang backing vocals. The Dave Clark Five, whose "Tottenham Sound" was London's answer to the wave of hits pouring out of Liverpool in the 1960s, scored with hits including "Bits and Pieces," "Do You Love Me?" and "Glad All Over." The group was nominated in October for consideration for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Clark said Payton and his partner, Lindsay, recently visited him in London. "He was thrilled about our American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination and said, 'I know I won't be around but it was an amazing part of my life that I am very proud of,'" Clark said. Payton is survived by his partner and two children from a previous marriage.

LMAO at your last post scuzzy. Glad to see that you spent the time and are now learning all the 'nifty' processes that it can accomplish. It does take a while to learn them all, but it's well worth it...
