  1. Try burning at 4x. Also try cleaning the burner's lens with a cotton bud and some alcohol, or using one of those lens cleaning disc kits. If you still get this problem then you should start looking for a new (non-slim external) burner.
  2. ImgBurn is just a burning tool. You'll need a BluRay re-authoring tool.
  3. It compares data on the disc against the source image/file(s) to check if they match (if they don't match then the disc is bad), but of course you could've known that if you used the Search button above, right?
  4. http://club.cdfreaks.com/f43/plextor-px-88...e-black-299536/ - try the Lite On tab
  5. If the disc contents is DVD-Video (i.e. VIDEO_TS folder with IFO/BUP/VOB files inside) then the drive may be reading slow on purpose: that's known as riplock and the only way to remove it is by flashing a modified firmware on the burner. You can modify the firmware with MediaCodeSpeedEdit if your burner is supported by that application. Also, in order to avoid read errors, some burners automatically slow down the reading speed if the burned disc quality is poor (crappy media/burned too fast/dirty disc/etc).
  6. You could try this firmware update for your burner but I doubt it'll improve support for that media. You might be able to burn those blanks with another burner, preferably a full sized one in a desktop computer.
  7. Please read this and you should see why: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=12013
  8. Where were your Verbatim blanks made? It's printed in the box/packaging/spindle. The ones made in India are said to be of lower quality than the ones made in Singapore. You could try with the 8x Verbatim blanks to see if they work, or you should start looking for a new (non-slim external) burner
  9. That's why firmware is upgradeable: to fix stuff. The latest firmware may improve support for burning that type of media. As for mechanical problems the drive would probably throw an error while it was burning, but dirt on the lens is very possible and that could cause a low burn quality, which in turn results in an unreadable disc.
  10. Yes, that's partially true (notice you had a buffer underrun even at the slowest speed), but I think the issue here is the quality of the media you're using: your burner doesn't like it and that's why you're getting an error when trying to burn it. Try getting the Verbatim 2.4x blanks and it should work. Alternatively you could use another computer to burn your games, preferably a desktop computer with a full size burner, as laptop slim burners are quite bad.
  11. Try this firmware update for your burner (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished). You might also want to try cleaning the lens of your burner with a cotton bud and some alcohol or one of those CD/DVD lens cleaning disc kits.
  12. Why are you using DVD Shrink if you're burning dual-layer media? Unless you're changing something in the DVD contents, you could probably ditch DVDFab too and use ImgBurn directly to burn your disc.
  13. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try again. You might also want to try a lens cleaning disc on that burner.
  14. Try burning at 4x, and avoid using it while burning. If that doesn't help then read this -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  15. LG burners don't support booktyping DVD+RW media to DVD-ROM
  16. The disc is good, so the problem may be with the x360 console, and we can't help with that
  17. That's not something we can help you with. Look around with Google and you'll find what you want
  18. Verify that disc against the source image to check if it was a good burn or not. By the way... There's newer firmware available for your burner (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished).
  19. And it's impossible that the newer games are using a new copy protection? One that requires your x360 to be "updated" in order to play?
  20. The log of that burn would be more useful than a screenshot. Anyway, tell him to update his burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot the computer after it's finished). If he was burning at the default MAX speed it might be worth trying the next burn at 16x or 8x.
  21. You didn't verify the burn so we don't know if it was a good burn or not. If it verifies OK against the source image (you can do it manually), then either the image is bad or your x360 needs updating, just like your ImgBurn and your Windows XP.
