  1. Please post the log from the burn (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
  2. We don't support versions before 2.5.0.0 ImgBurn shows what the burner reports and this hasn't changed in the new version.

  4. You could try a lens cleaning disc just for kicks, but I think your burner is defective and needs replacement
  5. That depends on the burner you have and the media you're using. Most burners do a better job at 8x or 12x. Also make sure you have the latest firmware for your burner. If you're in doubt, post the Information text from ImgBurn when in Write mode and with a disc in the burner
  6. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished). Does it help with your problem? If you can please post the Information again
  7. Pioneer 116/117 (or 216/217 depending on the interface) are great burners for dual-layer media. Choose an external enclosure that you like and then get a Pioneer burner to install in it (116/117 are IDE interface and 216/217 are SATA interface)
  8. Try a lens cleaning disc on that drive and it might help. Use Verbatim 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) blanks whenever possible, but the truth is that laptop burners aren't good. It would be better if you could get a normal-size burner in an external enclosure of your choice: the burn quality is much better with them, and you might even be able to burn some non-Verbatim media

    Clueless

Follow the directions in this post (especially the Important bit). Try burning at 4x, 8x or 12x. If it still doesn't work then you should try a lens cleaning disc on that drive.
  10. The problem isn't with ImgBurn and, as such, I'm afraid we can't help you with that

    help

Your drive doesn't support the blank media you're trying to use. If it has the latest firmware then you'll need to try with other media (Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden highly recommended) or buy a new burner. And next time please start your own thread.
  12. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6380 - it's very difficult to do, almost as much as finding the hidden Guides section, nearly impossible really
  13. It could be copy protection, and since ImgBurn doesn't read protected discs, it's not something we can help with
  14. You can verify the one you've burned if you want
  15. The verify process compares data burned on the disc against the source image, and if you don't get miscompares/errors then the burned disc is good.
  16. The firmware update is for your burner, and you would get it from your computer's manufacturer. Please post the log from that burn (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
  17. The disc is dirty, scratched or it could be copy protection. You'll need to try reading that disc with another drive.
  18. As per Cynthia's suggestion, get a Pioneer DVR-116 or DVR-117
  19. This one failed because of the crappy media. The other one we don't know if it's a good burn or not because you turned off Verify. Use the Verify mode to check the disc against the source image to make sure it's a good burn.
  20. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 - this is what LUK meant, and use 2.5.0.0 since we don't offer support for deprecated versions.
  21. With the disc in the drive, please post the text shown in the Device tab of ImgBurn's Build mode.
  22. Install this, reboot, then install this and reboot again. Try burning again.
  23. If it fails with Verbatim media then you could try a lens cleaning disc to see if it helps, or get a new burner, which is pretty cheap these days. //edit: donta beat me to it and also has a better suggestion
  24. Tools -> Settings -> Write tab -> Cycle Tray Before Verify is the option you're thinking about. Notice, though, that without tray cycling the verify process is less accurate.
