Try the other available speeds, but with that burner you would have better chances if you were using Verbatim 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) Made in Singapore blanks. You may be able to burn those Verbatim 8x blanks, and possibly the TDKs, if you use a newer fullsize burner on a desktop computer, or perhaps on an external enclosure.

ImgBurn reads its configuration from ImgBurn.ini if such file is present in the same folder as ImgBurn.exe; if such file isn't present then it'll read/write its configuration to the registry. As such, for the first time you have to run ImgBurn.exe /PORTABLE /SETTINGS ImgBurn.ini so that the base configuration file is created. When you add PortableMode=1 to ImgBurn.ini then ImgBurn will always run in portable mode. If you prefer you can create an ImgBurn.ini with just the PortableMode=1 line and save it with Notepad, then ImgBurn will be run in portable mode with the default settings.

The Matrix Storage Manager driver only installs when the controller is in AHCI or RAID mode. If it's in IDE mode then no drivers are needed. Check again in your motherboard's BIOS if it's in IDE, AHCI or RAID mode. You should also be using the latest ImgBurn version, as old versions aren't supported.

Yes. The Matrix Storage Manager driver is the real deal; the INF Update Utility just makes Windows show the correct names. By the way, I also have ICH9 in AHCI mode

Does it recognize other DVD discs? e.g. ImgBurn shows "Ready (Disc Not Empty)" in the status bar. If it does, please copy all the text shown in the Information box on the right-side of ImgBurn's window.

Which controller is the drive connected to? Are you using the latest x64 driver available for this controller?

The error comes directly from your drive and using an older ImgBurn version would show the same error. Maybe you've hit a patch of lower-than-before quality blanks? Anyway, try burning at 8x and you might get a better burn. If that doesn't work then try with better quality media, such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks. You might also want to try a lens cleaning disc on that burner.

ImgBurn doesn't change anything, so the problem is in your source image. Maybe it's in PAL format when your system is NTSC, or vice-versa. You should also update to the latest ImgBurn version.

The program is the same for both x32 and x64 platforms, and the one you've linked to is the old version. Here's the link for the latest version.

You don't need to click on Verify for the program to recognize the disc: it does that automatically as soon as your burner recognizes the disc and gives the information. Leave the Verify option checked, as that ensures the disc was correctly burned. If your drive doesn't recognize the Memorex DVD-RW discs then there's nothing the software can do. Have you tried with other DVD blanks?

Try burning at 8x or 12x on a brand new blank disc. If that doesn't work, then try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks. As for the locking issue there's a post in the FAQ covering that.

That's because ImgBurn doesn't support multisession in Build mode.

ImgBurn can't do what you want

The drive is connected to a controller operating in RAID mode, and this usually doesn't work nicely with optical drives. Look in your computer's BIOS for a setting like Compatibility Mode / Controller Mode (it's usually in Integrated Peripherals) and change it to IDE.

In ImgBurn while in Build mode, go to the Options tab and select ISO9660 + Joliet for filesystem. Now try burning again and see if your player works better like this.

Update ImgBurn to the latest version.

That's a DVD and from what I could find your burner doesn't support burning DVDs. Also you might want to update your burner's firmware to the latest version.

Actually SB07 is the latest firmware for that burner. Try burning at 8x or 12x to see if you get a better burn. By the way, what's the brand of the blanks you're using? Have you tried with DVD+R blanks?

Crossflashing can brick (technical term ) the drive if something goes wrong, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but as a last resort. In this user's case, trying with better media is the easier option. Not to mention that crossflashing his "newly" bought drive voids the warranty, if there is any.
