  1. It's there already: Tools -> Settings -> Write tab -> 'Lock Volume - Exclusive Access' option. Notice though that without locking the volume for exclusive access, any program can interfere with the burn process, even Windows Explorer/My Computer.
  2. Tools menu -> Settings -> Write tab, change Write Mode to Auto and click OK. If you can't exchange/return those 8x blanks you might be able to burn them on another burner (probably on a newer desktop burner)
  3. They are junk. The burn relies on the burner/firmware/media combination, and if there isn't newer firmware for your burner(s) then you should either buy Verbatim 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) blanks or buy a new burner.
  4. You would know what Cynthia said if you had not closed the Log window
  5. Also post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in the Tools menu).
  6. The only way around this is getting a higher quality source video (if you're downloading from somewhere ) or applying sharpening (though in the end it won't look much better).
  7. Then use IsoBuster to extract the AVI from the disc
  8. SP3 can read UDF up to 2.01 if I recall correctly, so the file should show in Windows Explorer/My Computer. Try using IsoBuster to see if it shows the AVI file on the disc.
  9. ImgBurn burns what DVD Flick tells it to, and if there was a problem with the burning process, then ImgBurn would have told you. If there was no problem shown then I guess DVD Flick didn't encode the whole thing. Are you using the latest version? Have you looked in their forum to see if other users had the same problem? By the way, the 120min shown on DVDs/cases is just a reference: you can burn less than that with more picture quality, or more than than that amount but with a really bad picture quality
  10. What UDF revision did you use? How are you trying to copy the .avi files (Windows Explorer/My Computer/etc)? If you try to make an ISO image using ImgBurn's Read mode, does it give an error?
  11. That's not something we can help you with. Google is your friend
  12. Tools -> Settings -> Build tab, check "Don't Prompt VIDEO_TS Content", check "Answer 'Yes'" and click OK.
  13. The burn quality relies on the burner/firmware/media combination; the software doesn't even come into it. If your burner doesn't like the media and there's no newer firmware then you should either buy different media or a new burner. By the way, we recommend using Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks because they only use high quality dyes. Other brands use the cheapest crap they can get away with. In the end, you get what you pay for.
  14. Do you have Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools installed on that computer?
  15. LIGHTNING UK! No wonder you're starting to forget things
  16. Please attach this file to your next post
  17. Could you post the log from when that happened? Look in ImgBurn's Help menu.
  18. It would really help if you posted the log from one of those burns (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
  19. It'll be 1.28 as the firmware is written to the burner's memory.
  20. Updating the firmware is as simple as downloading the updater and running it (if you're on Vista/Win7 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator just to be sure). Close all programs before updating, and after it has finished updating, reboot the computer. Do not reboot/power off while it's updating.
  21. Mount that image to a virtual drive (Virtual CloneDrive is able to do that) then follow this guide using the virtual drive as the source folder. That should get you a proper layerbreak You might also want to read this: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 As eSkRo said, you can use DVD Shrink to make it fit a DVD+RW, but notice that such shrinking reduces video quality.
  22. Having the latest firmware ensures the drive "knows" how to do best quality burns on most of the media available on the market (the software doesn't even come into it) and, at least for me, that's very important
  23. You can overwrite DVD+RWs, only DVD-RWs need a quick erase before burning That being said, your DVD+RW uses a pretty crappy dye. Try with Verbatim DVD+RW if you can and you'll never have problems again
  24. That parameter is informed to ImgBurn by the drive and shows the real type of media inside the burner, or at least how the burner recognizes that media. You might also want to look here: http://www.firmwarehq.com/Pioneer/DVR-112D/files.html
