Please post a log from one of such burns (you can find the logs at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs).

Did you try with Ner0's ASPI? Did you install the latest drivers for your motherboard's chipset?

You can try Ner0's ASPI (link on ImgBurn's download page), but try removing the filters first and testing again.

I think a Pioneer DVR-116 in an external enclosure would work great for you

As LUK said, follow this guide and choose the .dvd file as the image to burn.

Also please upgrade to the latest ImgBurn version

Make sure you're using the latest drivers available for your motherboard's chipset (use SIW/Sandra/etc to find out) and/or storage controller chipset.

Oh boy, now it doesn't even recognize the media properly... why don't you buy a few Verbatim DVD+R blanks to give it a spin? You don't need to buy 100 just for testing, you know...

Flash your burner with firmware BS0Y patched from this page. Remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before flashing. Reboot after it has finished. If that doesn't solve your problem then you'll need to get better media, such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks. Also you might have better luck with DVD+R discs

Try a lens claner disc on that drive. You might also want to try burning at 4x. Where are your Verbatim blanks made? It's printed on the box/spindle/etc.

That's normal and most likely due to active OPC. By the way, there's firmware 1.07 available for your NEC burner

Try with better media, such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks. Also check for a firmware update for your burner on your laptop manufacturer's website

Burn the attached ISO image to a CD-R/CD-RW disc and then boot from it using the CD-RW burner (NOT the DVD burner this is important!). [attachment removed]

Please post the log of that burn as that could happen for many reasons.
