  1. Try at 2.4x or 4x and it should work. The solution for the unable to lock error is in the FAQ.
  2. Reboot in safe mode and try the update again.
  3. Try the firmware update I've linked.
  4. You may want to crossflash your HP DVD Writer 640c to the real OEM, which is BenQ DW1625 from what I've read. Search at http://club.cdfreaks.com/ or ask them on how to do it By the way, HP's site is being a bitch and redirects me to DVD Writer 640i page when I click on 640c's link
  5. ImgBurn doesn't remove the file; it only removes the entry that tells the system to use that filter driver. I don't know where you were looking, but in most cases I've seen people had to remove dodgy filters in order to use or even "see" their burners again in Windows. What could happen is that the program which uses this filter may stop working, and in that case, you could always re-install such program, right?
  6. Couldn't find the OEM of that drive, so I guess you'll have to ask Teac about it
  7. Your old burner doesn't support the blanks you're using. Try aplying the firmware update available here. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot after it has finished. If that still doesn't work then you'll need to buy a new burner.
  8. You can't remove imapi, at least not with ImgBurn's Filter Driver Load Order tool. Have you tried with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks? Sony aren't the best and laptop burners are known to be picky about the media they like.
  9. If ImgBurn had hung you wouldn't see those messages. Sounds like Windows' I/O is getting stuck for some reason. Make sure you have the latest drivers available for your chipset and the latest firmware available for your burner.
  10. I've edited my post above to include the link to the firmware download
  11. Seems like Windows' I/O is getting stuck, which can only be caused by drivers. Make sure you're using the latest drivers available for your chipset, or if you are, revert to an older version or to the default built-in drivers from Windows. Also please post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu). When you've tried burning with ImgBurn, did you try at 2x like your Wii games or at 20x like you've done with Alcohol? By the way... There's firmware 1.09 available for your burner (AD-7200 SATA). Remove any disc and close the tray before flashing. Reboot after it has finished. I would try solving the stuck I/O error before attempting this.
  12. The program has no control over the burn quality: that's down to the burner/firmware/media combination. Look for updated firmware for your burner and try getting Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) blanks, as they're more supported by most burners than the 8x blanks you currently have. If you still want to try with the 8x blanks, try burning them at 4x or 6x instead of MAX and they may work.
  13. elsinor, try burning at 4x or 6x to see if it works. Also check if you're using the latest drivers available for your chipset (you should find this on HP's website). By the way, what's the brand of the discs you're using?
  14. GH0, make sure you're using the latest drivers available for your chipset. Also please post a log (you can find it at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs).
  15. Have you tried with Verbatim 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) blanks?
  16. Yes, that's not very good, but the real limitation is the USB 1.1 bandwidth, which isn't enough even for a 1x DVD burn. Have you thought about buying an USB 2.0 PCI card? They're pretty cheap and you'll be able to burn much faster with one of those.
  17. The external HD uses USB interface? Are you sure your computer has USB 2.0 ports? The speeds you're getting are typical of USB 1.1 interface. By the way... There's firmware 9P59 for your burner. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot after it's finished.
  18. Booktyping only applies to +R media
  19. Wii games don't have a filesystem that Windows can read, thus it'll show that window if you have CD burning enabled in Windows, or it would show an error message if you had that disabled. The important part here is the Verify, which was successful, meaning that the disc was properly burned and is an exact copy of the source image.
  20. You can find the logs through the Help menu.
  21. If you get the 'Burn with ImgBurn' option in the context menu then that's an ISO image, not a ZIP/RAR file. That happens because WinRAR, by default, associates itself with the .iso file extension (you can disable this in WinRAR's settings).
  22. I guess you should ask that to your download service
  23. Please post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu).
  24. You will only know if you try
  25. Please post the log from when you've burned with ImgBurn (you can find the logs in the Help menu).
