  1. Use SIW (look in Hardware -> Motherboard/BIOS/PCI/etc) or similar tool to find out which chipset you have then use Google to find the latest drivers for your chipset. I know this sounds difficult but this is needed to make your computer work in an optimal manner. It is also possible that this may help with your burning problems.
  2. Laptop burners aren't very reliable/durable and you'll have better results using a normal-sized burner in an external enclosure, if you can. Please have a look at this thread for online retailers that may also have burners. Be sure to test the burner before buying, or ensure you can return/replace it if it doesn't work, as some combinations of external burners/enclosures may not work well with your laptop.
  3. Your drive is a CD burner and DVD reader only, also known as a combo drive. You'll need to buy a DVD burner in order to burn DVDs
  4. In the Log window (View -> Log if you closed it) what do you see in the 'Found .... devices' line?
  5. Did you follow the post about DMA and removed your controllers? If you did, do it again as it's back to PIO mode.
  6. It's the Nvidia drivers that are buggy: ImgBurn works fine for everyone else using Intel/VIA/SiS/etc chipsets. Try ASPI and it should work
  7. Have you tried what LUK suggested? This is important to ensure the download wasn't corrupted.
  8. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LightScribe No, you don't need dual-layer media to use multisession. And yes, Verbatim media is high quality
  9. That drive is just a reader, i.e. it can't burn anything.
  10. Have a look at Staples and Newegg ('Computer Hardware' -> 'CD / DVD Burners & Media' -> 'CD / DVD Media' -> 'Verbatim')
  11. Making your own thread and posting a log of the failed burn would be a good start
  12. Try burning at the other available write speeds. If that doesn't work, get high quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks.
  13. Have you tried other blanks?
  14. Try burning at 4x and see how it turns out. Are those Verbatim blanks? Where are they made?
  15. Are you getting the unable to lock volume message when trying to burn? You only need to do what the FAQ says when you're getting that message and don't know which program is holding the drive.
  16. Low quality media gives hit-or-miss results. Please read this: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 I'm sorry but we don't support the program you've mentioned Please post a log from one of the bad burns (you can find them at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs) and maybe we can help you further
  17. Cynthia's post tells where to find the old logs so you don't have to burn again to get the log
  18. Luckily I've used the Preview button, or we'd have 3 answers all at the same time
  19. You can post an older log where this error happens (you can find them at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs).

    ISO creation

You can burn the VIDEO_TS folder directly to DVD, i.e. no need to create an ISO image first. Please have a look at our Guides sections
  21. If you do a binary compare of the image read from the drive against the source image, what do you get?
  22. Do you have Alcohol 120% on your system? Or any other program that masks the current media.
  23. ImgBurn doesn't support multisession in its Build mode at the moment.
