  1. Laptop burners are picky about the media they can burn, so Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) Made in Singapore will probably work best with your burner.
  2. I take it you're selecting the .dvd or .mds file as the image file, right? If that's true, then the one you have is incomplete/defective/damaged. Since you've set the layerbreak in the program's settings, select the .iso file as the image to burned and it should work
  3. ImgBurn reports what it was told by the burner. The 'No Seek Complete' error means the drive couldn't read the burned disc, and the 'Session Fixation' error means the burner couldn't even finish the burn. Those problems are likely to be caused by low quality media, especially when using dual-layer discs, so please read this: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  4. To what controller is the drive connected to? Please post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu).
  5. Anything that doesn't use MKM-001-00 or MKM-003-00 dye is rubbish, and Verbatim only uses those for their 2.4x and 8x (respectively) rated DVD+R DL blanks.
  6. Make sure you're using the latest drivers available for your chipset/motherboard. What model is your Samsung burner? Which firmware version?
  7. There's firmware 104C available for your burner. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot after it has finished. By the way, where are your Verbatim discs made? It's written in the packaging.
  8. In order to do that you'll have to flash your burner with a modified firmware. I think MediaCodeSpeedEdit can do that firmware modification.
  9. You may want to try the other available write speeds, but that's low quality media anyway.
  10. Your burner should be able to write that media. Try one at 4x to see how it turns out.
  11. ImgBurn can only create ISO images, not extract them. For extracting ISOs you may want to try WinRAR/7-Zip/etc.
  12. Have you tried the other available burn speeds? If it still doesn't work, try getting the 2.4x Verbatim DVD+R DL blanks (MKM-001-00 dye) as they work better with most burners than the 8x ones you have. By the way, you should Verify your burns, as that ensures the disc was properly burned
  13. In order to change booktype on NEC/Optiarc burners you have to flash the drive with a modified firmware, which you can find here.
  14. Please post the log from the failed burn (you can find it at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs).
  15. Burning at 8x or 12x should give the best results. From what we can see it looks like a low quality media issue, so you might want to try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks. Also, are you sure you're using the latest drivers available for your chipset? The controller shouldn't be identifying itself as Fibre.
  16. Not all problems are caused by the controller alone, you know. It would really help if you started a new thread in the support section and included a log from a failed burn.
  17. Please post the log from that burn (you can find it at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs).
  18. You'll have to use a re-authoring program then, as ImgBurn burns stuff as it is (i.e. it doesn't change anything).
  19. Your writer doesn't support the discs you're using. A firmware update could add support for those discs but we couldn't find any. Your options are: get a new burner or Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x media.
  20. Cynthia, you didn't see this... It was bound to be wrong in some way
  21. The default settings work best for most people, and they're only there for specific uses really. You might also want to try burning at other speeds, like 6x or 8x to see how it turns out. If that doesn't work, try with high quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks.
  22. HL-DT-ST drives are made by LG, and the latest firmware offered by LG for that model is XL05, as you can see for yourself at http://au.lgservice.com/ (Device Driver -> DVD-ROM(Writer)). BuffaloTech just rebadges the drive and uses its own firmware that's based on the original made by LG. You'll have to wait for them to release XJ05 for your drive, since that might help with your problem.
  23. ImgBurn doesn't need nor relies on any other program/service. I think you could remove all the Lower Class Filters and, if any other program stops working because it used a filter, you can always re-install that program. By the way, removing a program from the startup simply stops it from starting with Windows. The proper way would be to uninstall it from the Add/Remove Programs option in Control Panel.
  24. IsoBurn? Look at BuffaloTech's website for an updated firmware for your burner, as the firmware from the real manufacturer is in the xx05 revision already (yours is XJ03).
