  1. Set the Write Type back to DAO/SAO and try burning again, but this time at 8x or 12x.
  2. You're right on both your assumptions: ImgBurn doesn't support multisession in Build mode and it has been suggested many times before
  3. You'll have better results using Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) Made in Singapore blanks, as these are better supported by most burners.
  4. There's firmware 1.05 available for that burner at http://au.lgservice.com/ (Device Driver -> DVD-ROM(Writer) -> page 3).
  5. After setting the booktype to DVD-ROM, do a Full Erase on that disc and it should work
  6. If you like to watch it burn slowly try at least 4x, but you may get better results using 8x or 12x. Notice the media is rated by the manufacturer for up to 16x, and newer burners are optimized (i.e. produce better quality burns) at higher speeds.
  7. Then you know how to fix it again: delete the IDE controller(s) again
  8. As ImgBurn says in the Log window, FAT32 does not support single file(s) larger than 4 GB, limitation which ImgBurn easily gets around when it needs. Also, you don't need to make an image before burning to disc: follow this guide for single layer discs or this guide for double layer discs and burn directly from the source files The error you're getting (Write Error) means the drive could not burn the disc. Also the media you're using is rated 8x and is only well supported by newer normal-sized burners. It's possible that they're not supported by your burner, especially now that you've downgraded its firmware. Anyway, laptop burners are pretty weak and I'd recommend getting a normal-sized burner in an external enclosure and you won't regret. I'm not sure which log is newer but please make sure ImgBurn is in its default settings, as that works best for most people. As for the crash, it could be caused by the CDRDRV and/or ASAPIW2K, or may not be related to them at all
  9. Those are the 8x rated Verbatim DVD+R DL blanks, so try burning them at 8x or 6x to see if it works. If it doesn't, try getting the 2.4x rated ones (MKM-001-00 dye) made in Singapore (the ones made in India are inferior quality) or get a new burner, which may have better support for the 8x blanks

Low quality media, try burning at 4x and it may work. Get high quality media such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks and you won't have burning problems again
  11. In the Security settings make sure SYSTEM has full control on the files/folders.
  12. Use DVD Flick to convert your XviDs and it should work
  13. You can't only erase a disc then quit ImgBurn from the command line. You can make it automatically erase/format/overwrite the disc when burning. By the way, you don't need to erase a DVD+RW before re-using it again: just overwrite it

  15. What was said on the 2nd post of your previous thread is still true
  16. Convert the videos using DVD Flick or similar program and the DVD will play on any DVD player
  17. Isn't that what a full fledged backup program does? Besides, recordable DVDs aren't that reliable to store files as-is and hope they won't get damaged. Compressing/wrapping the files in a container can take care of that, and even add the ability to rescue files from containers burned to crappy media
  18. Can't you convert from the original files that are on your hard disk? DVD Flick can automatically burn the converted DVD for you (it even uses ImgBurn for that).
  19. Throw that disc in the bin and try another one, but that's low quality media and is likely to fail again. The only reliable dual-layer media is Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) Made in Singapore blanks
  20. Get yourself a normal-size burner in an external enclosure and you won't regret, not to mention that you'll also get better quality burns
  21. Please post the log from that burn (you can find it at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs).
  22. Where are your Verbatim blanks made? Singapore? India? Elsewhere? Anyway, if the drive can't burn them at 8x or 12x I'd make a high tech "optical paperweight" (doorstop is another option) with it
