  1. That's write-once media (the RW image misleads a lot of users). Does your project really need dual-layer media?
  2. Try other burning speeds (look in the Information pane on the right-side of ImgBurn for the line Supported Write Speeds). If you're in Build mode this information is in the Device tab. If it still doesn't work, get better quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks, as laptop burners are picky about the media they like.
  3. Please post a log (you can find it at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs).
  4. Try using IsoBuster, the file to extract will be under Bootable Disc if I recall correctly
  5. By having the same letters/numbers (it's not case sensitive) in the same places you have confirmed that the file was downloaded correctly, i.e. it's the same as the original, wasn't modified in the download process. Did you Verify your burn? ImgBurn does that by default and it's needed to make sure the disc was properly burned.
  6. Make sure you're using the latest version of ImgBurn (reset the Settings if you've changed anything related to buffer). Were you using the machine for something else while burning? Follow the steps in this post all the way (deleting controllers/etc) and try burning again (try Test Mode if allowed by the media).
  7. To extract the boot section of a bootable disc, go to the Advanced -> Bootable Disc tab of ImgBurn's Build mode, under Extract Boot Image select your Q: drive and click the floppy icon to save. Look in the Log window as there will be listed the settings you'll need to use to create a bootable disc image using the extracted boot section
  8. You could at least have tried a new blank disc since the one you're using was damaged in a previous burn attempt
  9. Please read ImgBurn's ReadMe.txt
  10. Please update to the latest ImgBurn version
  11. DVD Flick is another alternative.
  12. The computer/hard disk hosting that network share can't keep up with the transfer rate needed for an 8x burn, so that's why your buffer is getting empty. Move the ISO file to the laptop's HD before burning and it should burn at 8x without problems
  13. The burn process depends on the burner/firmware/media combination, so these are the options you may change in order to get successful burns. Burners are mechanical devices and they wear out like everything else. The latest firmware ensures the burner knows how to properly burn most media. Good quality media is essential for good quality burns. Also notice that the Verbatim DVD+R DL blanks with MKM-001-00 dye are rated for burning at 2.4x, and you're burning them at 4x, which could be considered overspeeding.
  14. Yeah, it doesn't even attempt locking the drive, which shows it doesn't care if other programs can interfere with your burn and possibly waste your media. Have you disabled Windows built-in burning sh... stuff?
  15. The error is coming from your drive so please use the latest ImgBurn version. Have you tried burning at 2.4x? If that doesn't work, try a lens cleaner disc on that drive. You might also want to try firmware 2.1b for your burner.
  16. Also revert ImgBurn back to the default settings. As said above, try with better media, such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden 8x blanks
  17. The easier way is to get the 2 computers networked together (a crossover ethernet cable is enough if they're close to each other) then copy the files/folders over the network (you can use Windows itself to do this). The harder way (by burning DVDs) would use 7-Zip/WinRAR to create an archive split in 4480 MB chunks (both programs/formats support splitting when creating the archive) then burning each chunk to a DVD disc using the UDF 1.02 filesystem.
  18. This looks like some sort of copy protection and ImgBurn can only read unprotected discs
  19. Get Verbatim DVD+R DL blanks (preferably the 2.4x MKM-001-00 dye ones) and it should work
  20. You can find the logs at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs
  21. Upgrade your burner's firmware to the latest version SB03 and try again. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating the firmware. Reboot after it has finished.
  22. You'll have to use whatever program that created that file to try and save it as another format (maybe AVI?), which you can then convert to DVD using DVD Flick or similar programs.
