Try burning at 8x or 12x. You should use better media, as those discs you're using now are known for their low quality. Use Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks if you can. Also update your burner's firmware to the latest 1.05 version (the link is under the AD-7170 P-ATA caption). Remember to remove any discs from the drive and close the tray before updating the burner's firmware.

As you can see, on DVD-R DL the layerbreak is always at 2,092,896 sectors and can't be changed, so, unless the source DVD-Video content is authored to be "splitable" exactly at that point, it's very unlikely that ImgBurn will find a "splitable" cell exactly at that position while also obeying the other rules of the DVD-Video standard for dual-layer discs.

When you're building, ImgBurn, by default, assumes that you're building an image to burn to a DVD+R DL disc. When you save the image, the MDS file contains the layerbreak information. If you burn that image to a DVD-R DL disc, the layerbreak information will be ignored since it can't be changed on that type of disc (probably an error message will be shown telling you this and/or asking what you want to do).

Please make sure you're using the latest ImgBurn, downloaded from the ImgBurn.com mirror. I think your Pioneer DVR-105 burner is worn out. Make sure you have the latest firmware on your Pioneer DVR-108 burner and you should be able to use it

The position of the layerbreak is changeable on the DVD+R DL standard, while on the DVD-R DL standard it's always at the same position. This is a limitation of the DVD-R DL standard.

If by "CD to CD" you meant on-the-fly disc copying, there's no such option in ImgBurn. Have a look at this guide

Look for updated drivers for your graphics card. Also try playing those DVDs with Media Player Classic Homecinema.

Install DC-Bass Source and try again

Try using ImgBurn's Read mode to make an ISO image from that disc. Set the Data Read Speed to 1x before clicking the Read button.

ImgBurn supports all optical devices that comply with the MMC specs, which is a really big list Your Pioneer DVR-109 burner works fine with ImgBurn. Notice that since you're using WinME you'll need to install an ASPI driver (either Adaptec's or Ner0's will work) in order to use ImgBurn

Only +R media can be bitset/booktyped: if you couldn't erase your RW discs of both + and - formats then your burner (or some software inbetween) was reporting 'Profile: DVD-ROM' (you can see this at the top of the information section on the right side of ImgBurn). Booktype is reported in the 'Physical Information (Last Recorded)' section at the end of the information text. By the way, Pioneer burners with official/standard firmware automatically booktype DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM. DVD+R/DVD+RW are left untouched. This is done by the drive itself and can't be controlled by ImgBurn.

Please post the log from that burn (you can find it Help/ImgBurn Logs).

Update to ImgBurn v2.4.1.0 (get from the ImgBurn.com mirror). Are those Verbatim blanks made in Singapore or India (look in the package)? The ones made in Singapore are better. Try a lens cleaner on that drive, or you might want to get a new burner.

You'll need to use a program like UltraISO/PowerISO/MagicISO/*ISO to do that.

Please re-download ImgBurn v2.4.1.0 from the ImgBurn.com mirror and install it. You won't lose your settings and you'll be sure that you're using the good version

Use Daemon Tools to mount your ISO image to a virtual drive, then follow this guide: use the VIDEO_TS folder of your virtual drive as the source. Doing this way you'll have a list of all the possible layerbreaks, which you can preview and use the one where a small pause will be less noticeable

You only need to get mplayerc_homecinema_x86_v1.1.0.0.zip: all those filters are already integrated into it. They're available as separate downloads in case you want to use them with other programs

Pioneer, BenQ, Lite-On, all of them have been able to burn MKM-001-00 at 8x with standard firmware (have a look in the Drives & Media section). The firmware his burner has is newer than the 1.00 version available at Asus' site.

Try burning at 2.4x and it should work

Could you post the whole log from the burn with the Verbatim DVD+R DL? You can find it at Help/ImgBurn Logs.

While you're at it use Media Player Classic Homecinema

Please post the log from that read attempt (you can find it at Help/ImgBurn Logs) so that we can see what's the error. By the way, that layerbreak tells me it's a Super Smash Bros Brawl DVD

2) Your previous burning software probably was using ISO9660 + Joliet filesystem, while ImgBurn defaults to using ISO9660 + UDF. Try a burn with ISO9660 + Joliet on a rewritable disc and see if it is what you want
