It's a known ImgBurn v2.4.0.0 bug and has been fixed for the next release More info: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6039

It's easier to check files by comparing MD5 sums of the original and burnt files. You can do that using wxChecksums or MD5summer.
-
Adding to what cynthia said, this is how it looks like: Clicking Play doesn't do anything. By the way, this shows in Task Manager as another ImgBurnPreview.exe process and doesn't use any CPU time. //edit: This happens because we provided simply ImgBurn_Preview.ini as argument. If you provide a full path or relative path to ImgBurn_Preview.ini the process starts hidden and uses CPU time just like when started by ImgBurn.

In Build mode, ImgBurnPreview.exe is reading from the IFO/BUP/VOB files themselves, while in Write mode (and Tools/ISO/Display IFO Layer Break Information), ImgBurnPreview.exe is reading directly from the ISO image, parsing the filesystem and then reading the sectors pertaining to the IFO/BUP/VOB files. At least that's how I think it does!

Go to Tools/Settings, enable Calculate MD5 Hash Values then click OK As for your A) question I didn't understand it

Change the drive's IDE cable to a good 80-wire cable, set the drive to master, connect it to the end of that cable and try again.
-
If you want to rule out a power supply issue, disconnect all other internal HDs and try again. You may also try using the other IDE cables, as the HDs will be disconnected. Or maybe you could try the burner on another computer (this would be the best option). If you're going to try again, use 2.4x burning speed. By the way, those discs are pretty poor quality and shouldn't be expensive; I know that's not the real problem here but I thought you should know anyway

All right, what is the constant factor on the three screenshots we have in this post? Can you spot it? All of them have the layer break at the middle of the ISO image. Could that be the problem?
-
Please upgrade to the latest ImgBurn v2.4.0.0 There's a firmware update available (1.18) but I wouldn't advise applying it until that disconnection issue is solved. What motherboard does your PC have? Are you using the latest IDE/ATA drivers available for it? Is the burner connected as master at the end of a good 80-wire cable?

Tested a few different ISO images and also have this problem with one of them. Process Explorer says that ImgBurnPreview.exe has no visible windows, yet it uses processing power as if it is decoding/playing. Changing Don't Limit Frames Per Second or Don't Use DirectDraw Overlays in the Settings makes no difference. I've tried by going to Tools/ISO/Display IFO Layer Break Information.

Tools/Settings untick 'Maximum File Size' in the Display Warnings section and hit OK As for the Antiguan piece of software, it could give you false miscompares at Verify stage after burning, so, have it disabled while not in Read mode
-
Since the discs verified successfully, they contain exactly the same data as the source image, so, the problem here could be the source image. Have you tried these discs on other X360s to see if they work? You might also want to use Ner0 CD-DVD Speed with your BenQ burner and perform quality scans on those discs to see how well they were burnt.

UDF 1.02 is the oldest and compatible with pretty much anything that reads DVDs. Have a look here for more info about UDF and its revisions
-
No wonder your burner is having trouble burning that media: it's pure crap. Try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media and you'll never look back
-
The DVDs you were able to copy with ImgBurn were not protected (protection isn't mandatory for DVDs so it's up to the copyright owner/holder to use it or not)
-
Please post the log from that attempt (you can find it at Help/ImgBurn Logs).
-
That's strange, because in Read mode the buffer only gets to 100% when the disc is being read at a faster speed than the computer can write to the HD. Can you post a log from this operation? You can find it in ImgBurn at Help menu/ImgBurn Logs option.

Unable to lock XL1B Media Changer on 2nd disk
mmalves replied to Black_Like_A_Cat's topic in ImgBurn Support
To disable locking go to Tools/Settings/Write tab, then disable Lock Volume - Exclusive Access; but be advised that when you disable this option other programs (including Windows itself) can interfere with the burn process and possibly make coasters out of your discs. -
Proceed to burn the image as usual, and if overburning is needed, ImgBurn will ask you if you want to continue anyway or abort
-
Also make sure you're using the latest firmware available for your burner (go to Tools/Drive/Check For Firmware Updates)

What's the current firmware version on your burner?
-
Please update to the latest v2.4.0.0 version This isn't a Verbatim disc, and the media you're using is known to be crap. Try using real Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden discs and you'll be fine

Get the 8.25 firmware (possibly needs to be extracted with WinRAR) and use MediaCodeSpeedEdit to remove the riplock
