What you use it for is your business. It's just a generic burning tool.

Because I don't want that kind of talk on this forum. Go and be a pirate elsewhere.
  3. That drive can read BD discs but it can't write to them. It's what's known as a 'combo' drive.
  4. You'd have to remove the disc from the drive, load the program, switch to Write mode, enable I/O debug mode by pressing F8 and then insert the disc. That'll make the program write a load more into the log window than normal. Once that info has come up in the disc info box on th right, press F8 again. Then save the contents of the Log window to a file (Files -> Save As) and upload it here on the forum so I can take a look.
  5. It's an internal drive option, it shouldn't be forgetting it and there's probably nothing you can do about it if it is.
  6. Try the latest firmware for your drive. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/SH-S223C/files.html
  7. All that 'unknown' stuff is what's causing the problem. Your drive isn't returning info to certain commands.
  8. 2x might just be no good for that drive/media combo. I believe VERBAT-IMd-000 are 4x discs, so you should at least try burning them at that speed. Slower isn't always better, it all comes down to how much fine tuning they've done in the firmware for a given speed. Still, I'm glad you found something that works
  9. How many have actually failed like that? Maybe it was just a bad disc? Failing that, update your drive with the latest firmware - http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/BH10LS38/files.html Try burning at the other supported speeds. If you still have no luck with the 'VERBAT-IMd-000' discs, give some different ones a shot. That's not to say your drive should be failing to burn those... so it could be a drive fault.
  10. Yeah, try the 3x speed and try a different spindle of discs - both MKM-001-00 and MKM-003-00 if possible.
  11. Maybe it would benefit from being cleaned?
  12. Your drive is reporting the disc is 'incomplete' and that the last session is 'damaged'. ImgBurn can only act on what it's told by the drive.
  13. OPC may make a difference, the others won't.
  14. Yeah, take it to them and get them to fit you a new one.
  15. Clear OPC History and try again. If it still doesn't work, maybe your drive just isn't up to the job of overburning. If you get a minute, post up a kprobe scan of the disc.
  16. You just went over the string length limit by selecting that many in one go. Add the folder itself... or use Advanced input mode.
  17. If you were burning an image file, yes. If you were burning a bunch of random files/folders, you can't do a full verify (comparing data to the source files) but you can at least check if the disc is readable. Switch to Verify mode and all will become clear.
  18. You want the next version up... so if yours is 0603, you'd want 0803. I doubt the firmware will fix your drive not functioning properly. Try cleaning it with a cleaning disc - or manually if you're feeling brave.
  19. The drive reported a 'Write Error', so yeah, it had some issue with writing to the disc. If you've burnt a few of them without any problem then let's assume it was a bad disc. If you've had more failures than anything else, consider switching to different discs (or buy a drive that can burn those a bit better). You have the option of burning at 4x instead of 'MAX' (6x). That may or may not help you get a better quality burn from the drive/firmware/media combo you're using.
  20. Who knows?! Maybe? It could also have just been a 1 off (unless it's happened multiple times?). The MKM-003-00 discs I've tested recently have been a lot better than the MKM-001-00 ones.
  21. Without a log, I can do nothing more than point you to this... http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  22. In theory, yes, that's all you need to do.
  23. Verbatim - They should be 'MCC 03RG20' for 16x DVD-R and 'MCC-004-00' for 16x DVD+R Taiyo Yuden (Victor JVC) - They should be 'TYG02' for 8x DVD-R, 'TYG03' for 16x DVD-R, 'YUDEN000-T02-00' for 8x DVD+R and 'YUDEN000-T03-00' for 16x DVD+R. Nope, the picture quality doesn't change. An 'easy to read' disc will mean you're less likely to suffer from stuttering / corrupt frames etc as the drive (fails) to read the disc.
  24. If your computer has SATA ports on the motherboard, you should be able to pick a new burner up for If it only has IDE, you'll have to try and find somewhere that still stocks them. They haven't really been making IDE drives for a while now.
  25. Pretty much anywhere that sells computer stuff - except supermarkets
