I don't blame you! Drives are pretty cheap now and you can get better ones than Dell would supply. Hope you get it sorted out eventually

Well, both programs tell you in the log where the LB will be put. Compare them and tell us what you see. I don't do anything with the LB at burn time, I simply maintain a steady stream of data to the drive from start to finish. The drive deals with all the LB stuff.

Did you try uninstalling the controllers as per the FAQ? Did you actually try a different cable or just look at the current one and say it's ok?

Yeah, 'My Documents' would work - as would a different drive I would think. If you don't have a 2nd drive, maybe you could partition off some free space from C: and make D: It's that or always running it as admin so you can make files wherever you like. I guess you could also just edit the NTFS permissions to give yourself 'change' access instead of just 'read' - but if you edit the root, that would filter through to all the other folders too unless you told it not to - and that might not be something you've messed around with before? (probably safer not to )

Yeah so it was just a permissions problem them. You need to find somewhere else to put your images besides the root of C:\ !

No, it's not because of the image type / content / origin, there's just some DMA related issue with your PC. Check the cable is a decent 80 wire one, check the motherboard bios is up-to-date. Check the drive is set on master / slave and not on cable select. Check it's in the right place on the cable for whatever you've set it to, master / slave wise. Check no other devices on the cable are causing the problem (i.e. remove them). Check your motherboard chipset / ide drivers are up-to-date and finally, follow the post in the FAQ about DMA issues. Hopefully one of those will fix it (I'd probably start by doing the last thing I said)

Ok well the acccess is denied message comes from Windows. So windows thinks you can't save to wherever you're trying to save. Vista locks quite a bit down so try somewhere else or right click the ImgBurn shortcut and tell it to run as administrator.

Your drive doesn't appear to like that disc (or perhaps that dye in general) and is simply erroring out as it tries to format (write to) the sectors. Check and see if there are any firmware updates available for your burner. It may fix the problem. Failing that, see if you can get some 4x or 6x DVD-RW discs instead (Verbatim ones I would guess).

It works fine in vista. What error are you getting exactly? An I/O error? That means your drive can't read the disc.

It doesn't matter what you're reading from various other parts of the program, the only one you should be looking at so far as bitsetting working/not working is concerned is the info in the 'Physical Format Information (Last Recorded)' section.

The first error is always the real one - the retries can show something totally different, and often misleading. As such, this is the error: ....and it's the same one you had originally. You're just going to have to stop using those discs and go for the Verbs / TY's.

If it says 'DVD-ROM' in the last recorded section, that's correct and bitsetting has worked. You're worrying about nothing I expect the problem lies elsewhere with that particular game. It's not often you get DL PS2 games and when you do, you can't normally make copies of them. That of course is not something to discuss on this forum though, it's better suited to a PS2/Console forum.

Ah so this isn't related to burning at all, it's to do with how you're authoring the disc. That of course then means it's nothing to do with ImgBurn.

2 of everything?! That screenshot looks normal to me. An IFO + BUP for each VTS set (with the same name - different extension though obviously) and then some VOBs for those VTS sets. I think perhaps you're worrying about nothing.
