1. Yes, the drive controls the speeds. If it lists 4x as a supported write speed, you can set it to 4x in ImgBurn and it'll burn at that speed. In this instance, you could also use 'MAX' as that's the maximum supported by the drive on this media. 2. Firstly, it's BIT setting, not BI setting DVDROM is more compatible with older standalones that were made before the DVD+ format was out/in widespread use. In newer players, it probably doesn't make a difference. There's no reason NOT to bitset to DVDROM, so you can pretty much leave it as it is and just forget about it. btw, I hope you're now using 2.2.0.0 rather than 2.1.0.0!

Mine should all be up there now. Scans from BenQ and the new LiteOn. Like Grain says, it seems good at 8x burning...20x, not so much! (but it's still not the worst I've seen!)

That error message should also tell you which file is causing the problem. I'd need to examine it in order to find out what's causing my code to crash.

It's down to the firmware and nothing to do with Evesham. The trouble is, I've checked and you're already running the latest one. If they release one in the future, those discs might then work.

That's the problem, your drive doesn't think they're empty. 'Complete' should actually say 'Empty'. That's a value returned directly from the drive, not something I'm making up as a result of certain tests or anything. Try getting some of the 2.4x verbatims instead, it would appear your drive doesn't fully support the 8x ones.

When you're in Write mode etc, there's a window on the right of the main form (window) that get filled with lots of info about the disc. So just start the program, put one of the problem disc in the drive, wait for it to say 'disc not empty' in the status bar and then copy + paste all the info from that window. That's my signature, it's not aimed at you, just at people in general!

An I/O Error is not a crash - please be careful with your wording. I can fix real crashes (if I can find the problem) - not that I've ever really seen ImgBurn totally crash. I can't fix I/O Errors. That's down to your drive/media/setup.

1st Burn + Scan with LH-20A1H http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtop...t=20#entry40448 I believe there's a bug in DVDInfoPro that's limiting the graph's 'Write Speed' line to 18x. It should actually be going right up to 20x.

What answer were you looking for exactly?! Your initial question is very generic, how comes you've turned it around and made it about ImgBurn? As ImgBurn can burn files on the fly OR burn an image, I'm not sure I get the point you're trying to make. It's of use whenever you need to do something that it can do. If you don't know what it can do, it's probably of little use - but then you should take the time to look and learn what's possible.
