on reflection though, LFC's spelling is'nt the best i've ever seen ( not as good as mine anyway ) , he "could" of done a typo and meant Barbi ?

  8. disc or disk , depending where your from as well i guess ,i was taught disk as a kid at school , and disc was an Americanism g however, if you look in the "Volvo's definitive guide to correct spelling" it comes out as "disque" , dissc , discks or desk

i only just saw this thread , but as i owe you one for the music in Greys Anatomy , the answer is "Brian Eno" strange selection of background music for a pron movie though ?
  10. my thoughts as well when i read Kirks description
  11. yep, worked by using build mode, and choosing the card readers drive letter as the source directory and it also worked when i picked files out individually off the card readers drive letter as well
  12. no not really if you have a 1.3gb file to start with , then a single layer disc is plenty . unless you can re-work your source file with an encoding program to higher quality which makes it more than 4gb . This would be an example, if you have a camcorder and have 2 levels of quality for recording . the lowest level would be under 4gb and a higher level of quality was over 4 gb , then youd have better quality/resolution when viewing it back by using a DV9 dual layer disc . this is purely because the original source file is over 4gb . Basically, what goes in is what comes out with video files , you can compact video quality , but not really expand it
  13. never even thought of doing that /me goes off to try this with the camera card
  14. when i first saw this thread, i thought it was going to be a "wind up" , and i was going to tell you i use the braille feature on my touchscreen monitor , However , i have to agree you found a good point to raise about the colours/icons . im not colour blind myself, ( just going blind after studying the eye candy thread for too long) but i can see the point thats been raised . i would go along the lines of Lmao2k's idea of "words" rather than smilies , depending on how difficult it would be to implement . And Blu's idea of letters "EX, VG, G, AV" as well
  15. as easier way is to throw the nero crap away and stick to IB
  16. when youve finished doing all that Jack suggested above your main problem is that the quality of those discs is that poor, the drive cant even read them afterwards . but DO do as Jack said with firmware and the newer version of IB
  17. If you have a suggestion for ImgBurn, then you suggest away , you never know, you may ask for something thats not been covered before . personal opinion is that WMP is a bit more complicated than needs be, but burrrn is just fine for me..................................................... until of course something develops within IB from LUK
  18. And "again". the answer will be no , until LUK decides to go down this road again, LUK has seen all the arguments in favour of audio cd burning, but until he decides to implement it we will have to wait Bit baffled as to why you find "burrrn" crap , or you dont like it ?. its so simple and easy to use, and does a good job of creating an audio cd, even WMP is usable by most people for simple audio burning yes its wanted by a few people, BUT, does LUK "want" to create it ?? does it fit in with his idea of what he wants ImgBurn to be ? It would appear not at this moment in time No one will flame you , as long as you read and respect the replies you get to the question
  19. have a look on gateways site. i just did, but it wants a serial number for my machine !!!!!!!!! which i dont have of coarse. shame they dont let you search by drive model, it would be easier
  20. its most likely a case of that drive not liking the media, have you any other blank media you can try ? also a slower burn sped may help see if you can find a firmware update for that drive GWA-4165B . its in a dell or an HP maybe ?, as its not a boxed retail drive . the retail version was a GSA-4165B NOTE the differant letters the GSA version is firmware DL05 , so theres probably a "DG" prefixed update about somewhere ( your on DG01 firmware version at the moment). Look on the computers manufacturers web site first for any updates. what make of PC is this drive in ?
  21. just to add , LG are hit and miss with there writers, in the sense that some drives they produce dont have any firmware updates and others have lots in a short space of time . example is the LG E20N has'nt had any updates yet ( in a month of release ) and the LG4120 is on the 17th update , of which the first 5 or so was within 4 weeks of its release. firmware adds writing instructions/strategys to a drive for more types/brands of media ( amongst other things) , so its worth keeping firmware upto date for that reason alone
