ImgBurn changes .IFO and .BUP files in VIDEO_TS folders.
volvofl10 replied to Stas's topic in ImgBurn Support
Welcome to the forum stas my thoughts are the padding option as well. what is ACTUALLY differant between your original VIDEO_TS folder and the disc you created , anything visible on playback ? as for a help section in ImgBurn , thats what this dedicated forum is for im baffled as to why you think you cant use a burned disc as a back up of an original VIDEO_TS folder though . if its already in a VIDEO_TS , then you will get a replica disc that will still play the same as the VID_TS folder, especially if its DV5 size -
and there was me thinking that one had slipped under the radar

To confirm what LUK said above i just tested this out in build mode and write mode, and however you leave the program when you completely close it, thats the way it opens up next time, verify checked on close = verify checked on open and vice versa where did you downlaod v2.2.0.0 from ?
-
@Groundrush could you send LUK a list of all dates you will be away this year, as he's fed up of guessing when so he can release the next version LOL Groundrush is ALWAYS away when a new version coms out @ LIGHTNING_UK another nice release, thank you EDITTED after Cornholio politely took the piss out of my genuine mistake

and the media your using certainly isnt helping , anything made with CMC-MAG dye/ink is low quality im afraid CMC lasts anywhere between 1 minute and 1 month, and not usually any longer LOL seriously though, if you want to be able to read that dvd in a few months time, you want to change to a better class of media , as in this case the drive is struggling to read back from the disc within minutes of you creating it on the same drive

the FULL log will be more help to us

due to legal reasons and the fact that roadkill sex with frozen peas is banned in most countries , the video trailer had to be removed

you need to ascertain that there is sound in your source file , use winamp, vlc media player, windoze media player or media player classic . ImgBurn will burn what its presented with, so no audio in the source usually means no audio in the end result. another possibility is that your player does not like these discs , yes, it is a balancing act between decent media your burner likes and decent media your standalone player likes as well when you posta log file, you need to post all of it. your last one has been cut short

need to have USB 2.0 capabilitys on an "old" laptop , which only has USB 1 and firewire ports. found this item at a few places , but need to know opinions on how good it is or isnt pcmcia USB 2.0 adapter if ive read it right, it will utilise the pcmcia card slot which is onto the cardbus, and enable USB 2.0 speeds ?, or have i got it totally wrong? all my current external devices are firewire (1394) or 1394/usb2.0 , but i only use firewire connections, however the newer items available are mainly USB 2.0 only . considering a LGE20N drive that Dontasciime has posted about in chat forum all views/opinions welcome volvo

everything at 8x on an external LG , as the laptop cant sustain 12x data flow
-
Polo plan ahead, thnk of the pool .........MORE explosives LOL
-
Donta a coupla questions if i can , does it have firewire port on the back for camcorders ?, or just the 3 coloured jack plugs what format does it save an input ,a nd does it go straight to your hdd, or try and burn to disc on the fly. iuf it had a firewire connector rather than usb2 , id definately try one ( limited to firewire with thsi laptop, and would lose wireless card if i used a pcmcia adapter for usb2 thanks volvo '

LG gave dbminter the first 1000 blu ray drives to test , and on #1000 they found out what the fault was................ they didnt know our db is the cheif destruction tester for LG drives LOL, cure: ...they simply stopped sending them to him

more often than not, a disc that fails to verify will still play/run or whatever the content pn it does. have you tried the discs that failed to verify ?

the write speed doesnt matter , although i dont run at max due to using external drives that dont have fast I/O on reading your log, that drive doesnt have a write strategy for 1x for that brand of media , as it wrote at an average of 4x anyway ( see below), and as the maximum was also 4x , this makes me think its poor quality media I 22:44:28 Average Write Rate: 601 KB/s (4.0x) - Maximum Write Rate: 617 KB/s (4.1x) also the following indicates poor media as well E 22:47:24 Failed to read Sector 0 - No Seek Complete it couldnt find the start point of the burn area , probably down to quality of disc. drop a cd in and choose max as the write speed, and see if it indicates the various speeds it can write the disc at . im not saying that it will burn at max speed , but would be curious to see what happens if you do, especially with the verify can only suggest its the media , but DO try burning a dvd and veryfying with it and see what happens, ie if it works or not. not sure about your firmware version either , it shows as 1.91 which could be a 3rd party one, im not sure, but wait to see if one of the guys with NEC drives can correct me

The G04's were a good middle of the range ( and reliable) media at a realisitic price, there downside was they were rated at 4x . Ritek ,in there wisdom, invented G05 to cope with 8x ( if i remember correctly) , and from then on it was the demise of ritek. had they made the G05 as good/reliable as the 04's, then taiyo yuden may just of become some weird name that not many people had ever heard of
-
ideally you need to find what formats your player will handle the majority of PC drives will happily play both, and an O.S will handle both as well , unlike standalone players and TV's you could goggle the make and model of player to see what types of format it WILL play ( if youve lost the handbook)
-
LG Australia and LG korea ( or taiwan) are usually the first with LG firmware updates , but neither are showing anything yet
-
i went over to Taiyos when G05 ritek's came out,as they was extremely unreliable then . then soon after the ritek G04 became obsolete
-
sounds like one of the following your player does not support the type of disc you used , ie you used a +R disc and the player will only deal with -R or maybe a re-writable disc ( RW)and the player only supports +/-R the TV format of what you burned to disc is not supported by your player. ie you burned a European ( PAL ) TV format subject to disc and your trying to play it on a USA ( NTSC ) TV format player ImgBurn finishes off the disc for you, so if you've left at default settings then , No , you don't have to do anything else to be able to play i on other players try the disc on any other available dvd player round the home or one of your friends players

what type of discs ? +R RAM doesnt have to finalised for playback on the same recorder EDIT : notice how i highlighted it in pink as its LFC's favourite colour

ive never gambled on the unbranded ones , although the genuine ones were 45 quid once over and the unbranmded was at 30quid i was tempted. ive always though of UNbranded as ones that fail the quality control test at the factory, so i never tried any Unbranded theres a button on the link i gave you that will email you when they are in stock . you may have to be registered with svp for this, not sure . its well worth joining/registering with them anyway for promotional offers , like cheap shipping. Ive found the TYG02's to be OOS many times in the past which makes me think there poular, when ever i order i always get cd's as well , verbatim 52x, and if the dvds are In stock, you can guarantee the cds will be OUT of stock and vice versa . im that happy with the TY's thought hat i order 200 at a time, knowing that when i running low svp will be out of them . i havent even looked anywhere else for TYG02's . i just scanned thru these discs in the media and drives section, and they do show to be very reliable across a broad range of drives. as a thought, if you order anything from svp, you could always ask for some samples to try before you commit to a 100 spindle of them

lets try a differant way of explaining it for you open ImgBurn press "print Scrn" on your keyboard go to your start button select all programs or programs ( whatever your system says) go to accessories and find Paint in the sub menu that appears and open it hit the EDIT button and choose paste from the sub menu you will then get the screen shot with ImgBurn showing goto the FILE button and choose "Save As" rename it to something you can remember and save it as a PNG type file to somewhere on your HDD , like My Documents ( png is a smaller file than a jpg or bmp) then you can post a reply using the ADD REPLY button and we can see whats happening

personal choice is Taiyo yuden TYG02 8x -r discs . svp does them ( i get all mine from there) see here about 30quid per 100 , not the cheapest i know, but ive only lost about 5 in over 600 discs and the early ones are all still readable after 3 years. personally i wouldnt bother with any other brand, even if they do use the taiyo dye/ink, and likewise i would stay away from the 16x version of these with the tyg03 dye ( personal choice) verbatims are good, but i found that DV5 verbs are not brilliant with my 3 panasonic players , If you was going for Dual Layer then it HAS to be verbatims and no other type you could check for a firmware update for your drive which may give you better write speeds, do this within the ImgBurn using the TOOLS button, TOOLS>DRIVE> CHECK FOR FIRMWARE UPDATES EDIT i should add theres a comprehensive guide to differant media tested in the Drives and Media forum HERE

InCD was one of those packet writer software progs that used to upset an old dear departed software friend of ours . I dont know if its still an issue with IB though. I havent heard mention of packet writers for some time now, so maybe its not a problem anymore
