  1. If ImgBurn is able to read the files on the CD it will make a copy of them as they are on the original disc, if they are compressed with winrar for instance that is how they will be read. I don't believe ImgBurn will attempt to uncompress them as it just reads the disc contents as files. You can then use the Write facility to write the contents back to another disc.

    Blade 4

We do get shafted by any and all immigrants that come to the UK for a better life. By better they mean state benefits and free Health service paid for by us who have worked and paid taxes all our working lives Then when we need to use the services we have paid for the waiting list is years and we don't qualify for the state benefits - fucking great system
  3. I always thought a one to one back up would be best achieved by using READ mode to get the contents of the CD to your HDD and then WRITE mode to burn it back to a new disc..... Have you tried this ?
  4. It's sometimes worth running a full virus scan with updated definitions, also run Spybot and Adaware (both free to d/l I think) and let them check for anything nasty too. That said I think polo has probably nailed it and you may want to look at recent program installations and see if they are to blame.
  5. Are you backing these discs up again cos the XBox can no longer read them ? If so it may be that ImgBurn or any such program will struggle if the disc quality sucks...
  6. What was the media ID (dye type) on the cheap DL's ? If you post a copy of one of your logs when you burn them we can see. Thanks
  7. Hi, as Corny correctly guessed above your log shows that you only have a DVD-ROM drive, This means you can read and watch DVDs with it but you cannot burn them. You can pick up a DVD?RW drive for less than ?20 online now, if you are in the UK or Europe take a look at www.svp.co.uk or for the US try www.meritline.com. They will have quite a range of drives, personally I like the Pioneer's you can get the DVR-112 or the slightly older DVR-111 but there are others out there that are just as good !
  8. Obviously they register and then post up the Spam....
  9. I didn't realise they were different discs boss, I just thought that some drive/fw combinations allowed you to burn the Verb DVD+R DL's faster than 2.4x. I always stick to 2.4x for my burns anyway.
  10. Thanks for the info blu, not something I have ever tried either....
  11. I think people are forgetting that DVD Decrypter is dead and won't be coming back.
  12. TTG02 media is not great as the boss said I only use it for burning single tv episodes.....
  13. I didn't get that one either spinner - therefore I think we are ok to keep our weapons in hand.....
  14. I hate it when that happens, the Mrs and I are off to see the Walls of Jericho this weekend......
  15. Being off topic is ok cos we answered the Q at the start (somewhere!) Now let me introduce you to my pet, he's called fluffy !
  16. I guess that's the danger of false advertising fella, you think your getting Jessica Alba but you get a hairy bloke from Bedford instead lol

  17. Dead heat in the Zeppelin race !!

    LiteOn 20x

    Thanks Grain nice burn/scan
  19. You don't have to believe us but I would bet a fair bit of money on it being the discs. We see all sorts of problems with DL burns when they are not Verbatims, look through the forum and you will see that most go away when using the Verbs.
  20. You need Daemon tools but not the search bar - try this: http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.p...ory&catid=5 Once downloaded and installed you can use it to mount images from your HDD for playback etc, it really is a virtual DVD Rom drive... If given the option don't bother with the toolbar !

    LiteOn 20x

I have the Pioner DVR-111 and it's an excellent drive, therefore I would hope the DVR-112 is as well. I also have the BenQ DW1655 installed as well at the moment for scanning, this is also a nice drive altho it's started to develop an annoying fault of open and closing the tray 3x every time I change the discs... Apart from that it too has been a good drive. I quite fancy the LiteOn now as it does scans as well, I haven't heard great things about the newer BenQ drives following their merger so would probably go with that.... In summary if you want to do disc scans try the Liteon, if not get the Pioneer
  22. I might be wrong but if that firmware is not for your drive it shouldn't let you proceed with the update anyway
