what does the drive report in ImgBurn for model number etc. Or what is on back of drive. (don't think this will apply but just checking) you say you took out nvida ide drivers, so in device manager now it looks like this or not. Is the drive set as master ? on 40 wire or 80 wire IDE cable ? (you got raid set up at all) ? check ide cable is in good enough do the same for power cable to drive pop in region 2 disc then use the drives properties page and try and set region again to 2. scan your computer for spyware viruses etc as well. take out anydvd as well

Use better disc's. Verb. What kind of speeds are you getting burning to single layer, if they are low then uninstall your ide controller as per FAQ . 1ST get some verbatim + dual layers if it still does it then your problem is with drive or drivers, DMA etc

try with I/O wnaspi32 you will have this if you have Nero if not look on Nero site for it, put wnaspi32 in system 32 folder or ImgBurn folder and change i/o settings in IB It's about all you can do to change I/o and hope. or try with a clean install to rule driver corruption etc, addon cards, enclosures are hit and miss.

would depend on your DVD player if it will read dl when book type is + far better to just use DVD-ROM IMO

would think samsung lcd tv if settings were set up right on it (eg multi or Auto for region) and the way it is connected to dvd player (as its important) and the dvd player has been set to MULTI or Auto for TV standard etc would be ok with any dvd from anywhere in world. Also you did use ImgBurn according to your 2nd post. Just admit it you pressed a custom tonal on the remote rendering your image BW

Not at all, mine was sitting here yesterday morning. I was in no rush to install it and be 1st, as I am not at all interested in seeing who can piss the furthest, just fancied getting the drive as I had not bought one in 2 weeks Wait for the scan to interpret.

speed is not everything. as pointed out 8x writing is best scenario for good quality burns and anything above 8x with a good result is rare but to be treasured if it happens

Surely you mean No Bush Gardens ? Alter It's been on order for nearly a week, I want it for scanning will obviously be trying to get my 16X media to burn at 20X to see what media does with it. Still get one if you really want it but try and get it online, unless the one at PC world for 35 does light scribe, though no need for LS when you have cheap ink Epson CD printer etc. So look at getting the drive online and maybe a 50 pack of decent disc's and postage for ?35 then your getting bargain
