Suggestions for features in IMG burn
spinningwheel replied to mrrogers's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
Just a wild guess here, but I don't think the Boss will entertain this one.... -
imgburn freezing part way through burning

To quote Shamus: To quote me: -
Druncode; When you compute the cost of failing discs in time (yours), aggravation (yours), and waste of the cost of the crap media disc, the 'fancy' Verbs become a lot cheaper in cost and troubles. spinner

Try playing the game...if it works, all the better. However, make a copy of it on your Verbs when you get them as the: Are more prone to delaminate or rot over age than the Verbs.

imgburn freezing part way through burning

Then don't. ImgBurn verifies the disc to give you the absolute chance that the disc will operate properly...period. Nero doesn't and does a crap job of quality control over it's burned disc. Either use Nero...or take the advice given you here... This is not a debating society, we know what you need to do. -

You hijacked this thread, the Boss advised you to start your own thread, so don't be a wise-ass and do what you're asked to and you'll get the answers that will help you solve the problem.

Don't bet your money on it, save it and spend it on the media we recommend, you'll be farther ahead and much less annoyed.

Blu; Praying that the fires get contained soon Cynthia; As far as arson, it is a sexually driven crime committed by sociopaths that need to find release in the chaos and pain inflicted upon real property and their fellow humans. Blu; Screw that making them look at the bodies crap, that's what they wanted to create. A quick 2 in the back of the skull and an open lime pit to throw them in works wonders though...
-
Teresa; Glad you got the problem sorted out. These things can make you crazy while you keep trying one fix after another until you finally figure out what the problem is.
-
Blu; Have been following the fires in the news here, are they anywhere near you or Shamus?
-
Sheri; Best Buy, Staples are both good for their pricing if you need to go to a brick and mortar storefront however I prefer to beat their prices by going here: www.Meritline.com www.newegg.com www.tigerdirect.com Same for media, I get all of mine through Meritline and haven't had a problem with quality.

"Test Mode" reporting fake coasters of my DVDs w/ SATA error
spinningwheel replied to smu johnson's topic in ImgBurn Support
Just my 2 cents here but: Genuine Verbs made in Taiwan/Singapore have never given me a problem. If they are CMC or other dye lots, odds are they are mostly fakes as Verbatim uses AZO dye and I believe they hold the rights to it if I'm not mistaken. -
Your problem is your choice of crap media, change to Verbatims and see what happens.

Could it also be that your drive thinks that the crappy: Are: which makes no sense and points out that you need to change to a decent disc like a Verbatim ( Made in Singapore ) or a Taiyo Yuden. -
A simple cut and paste of the error that you received, had you copied it to our search function, would have revealed this: Reason: Program Memory Area Update Failure. Also, your choice of media: is not the best either. Try some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim ( Made in Singapore ) discs to fully ensure the least amount of grief.
-
Yes it does...In addition to what mmalves wrote: Your media choice is crap, that you were able to get as many burns as you did was surprising to read. We only recommend Taiyo Yuden and Verbatikm ( Made in Singapore ) for any DVD burning job here for a reason.

While I commend you on your pursuit of something that can burn -r DL's the way you want, I don't see the purpose of this post since you're comparing apples to oranges; since a stand alone unit does not have to follow he same logic patern as a computer driven device, and ImgBurn isn't the burning program for the device.

Got 13" of powder snow around me yesterday, we got about 8" total from Tue thru Wed, and temp was -1f at 4:30 this am when I was driving to work. Road salt will not work below about +18f and calcium chloride stops at about +11f so there was ice and snow on all the City, State and Interstate roadways today. Looking for a high of about +28f today, low of +18f tonight and it's going above freezing tomorrow and will be in the lower 50's by Tuesday. Rain is expected to start Saturday on top of the 18" of snow and ice we have on the ground right now...so...flooding of the iced in rivers, lowlands and runoff systems should start Monday followed by fracturing water mains under the city streets and chuck holes that you can lose the front end of your car in if you're not careful. And Lake Erie is frozen over so we're getting all of our snow from up North by way of Canada and Michigan... I hate winter... I hate snow... I hate ice... I hate cold... I hate Fall because Winter is coming...I hate Spring because...right after Summer...Fall shows up and WInter is right on its' ass... The only thing that keeps me sane is that walleye season is coming in a few months and I can get out on the lake and pretend Fall isn't around the corner.

Problem... Solution... Quit buying discs that are crap and buy some Verbatim ( Made in Singapore ) or Taiyo Yuden discs and see the difference.

Stuck at 2.4X burn speed with single layer discs
spinningwheel replied to ButchN's topic in ImgBurn Support
After posting the log as Cynthia suggests please remember that these discs are all crap and you cannot expect to correct any other problem that you have while still burning on them. Use Verbatim (made in Singapore) or Taiyo Yuden discs for your best bet. -
