  1. Please post the latest burn log (you can find previous burn logs in ImgBurn's Help menu).

  3. Try burning at 6x or 8x. You could also try cleaning the burner with a lens cleaning disc. If it still doesn't work then you should look for a new burner, something like a new Optiarc burner would be great.

  5. You can use the built-in burn feature of Windows for that.
  6. 16x is the slowest speed your burner supports on that media, and being it CD media, it's probably the best burn quality you can get. Besides, it verified OK, which means the disc is a good copy of your source ISO image, so you don't need to worry about it.
  7. Boot into safe mode and try burning a DVD-R with Test Mode enabled, so as to not actually write the disc but simulate the burn process. Does it work this way? Please post the log.
  8. ISO9660 Joliet UDF I've been using only UDF 1.02 for archiving and have yet to find something that can't read it
  9. Old firmware, crappy media and slow burn speed could be the cause of your problem. Update your burner's firmware, try burning at 8x or 12x and if it still doesn't work then try with Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden (Victor JVC) or Sony media.
  10. Your drive is just a reader, not a burner.
  11. ImgBurn burns content as-is, so you need to look into DVD Flick's settings to set media size/bitrate/etc so that it better fits your discs.
  12. Run SIW, go to Hardware -> Motherboard, select all the lines on the right and copy/paste them here. Alternatively, you could try using this website to look for new drivers for your system devices. If newer drivers don't solve your problem then you'll need to learn how to check cables/master-slave jumper/etc or ask someone to do it for you.
  13. Flashing firmware when there's a communication problem between the burner and the system could easily brick (technical term ) the burner, so only do it after solving the problem.
  14. Those aren't errors, they are warnings and unrelated to your problem.

  16. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=12200 And the message about FAT32 isn't an error, it's a warning that files to be stored on your F drive can't be larger than 4 gigabytes.

  21. If you can't get Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim CDs, try with Sony CD-Rs (yellow carton), they've been working great for me.
  22. a) just like there's DVD-R and DVD+R, there's DVD-R DL and DVD+R DL, they're competing formats with some different characteristics: DVD-R DL has slightly less sectors (i.e. less space) available and it has the layerbreak at a fixed position, where with DVD+R DL you can set the layerbreak to your liking as long as L1 isn't larger than L0. there's no way to change the layerbreak on DVD-R DL media simply because the standard doesn't allow it. And your version of ImgBurn is old. ImgBurn knows all of the above mentioned limitations and it'll take that into account when you're building a DVD-Video disc, so you don't need to worry too much about it. It's also worth noting that DVD-R DL is an inferior standard, and as such, it didn't get many attention from burner manufacturers nor DVD readers, so you might run into some trouble with it in the future.

  24. Update ImgBurn and try burning at 8x or 12x.
  25. Try burning faster. If it doesn't work then try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc. If all that fails then you should get a new burner.
