  1. Did you convert your MKV to BD Video using some other program? If you did then you should look into that other program because ImgBurn burns stuff as it is, i.e. nothing is changed.
  2. Try burning at the other available write speeds with a brand new blank disc. If it doesn't work then try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc like LUK said above or get a new burner.
  3. It seems that drive uses a NEC chipset so you should use the NEC tab. Have you actually burned a DVD+R DL disc with it? Most burners automatically booktype DVD+R DL media to DVD-ROM by themselves.

Update ImgBurn. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try again. If it doesn't work then try with Verbatim DVD+R DL blanks. While you're at it, also update your Windows Vista to Service Pack 2
  5. Try burning at 4x. Also try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc. If that doesn't help then try with Verbatim DVD+R DL blanks. If you're going to buy a new burner get an external non-slim burner (slim burners are rubbish).
  6. The Pause button is in the abort operation dialog (when you click the big red button). You're not able to open the tray because ImgBurn, by default, locks the tray during operations (to prevent the user from accidentally interrupting the process), and you can change this behaviour in Tools -> Settings -> Device tab.
  7. Have you looked in ImgBurn's Read Me? All the command line options are listed there.
  8. Look for updated drivers for your motherboard's chipset and/or SATA controller (tip: use SIW to identify them). After you get updated drivers and don't have this problem anymore then you might want to update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished).
  9. Have you noticed the green arrow (expanded view)? Or perhaps the Advanced Input mode?
  10. ImgBurn's Build mode burns files as they are, i.e. it doesn't change anything. If you want them on a DVD disc that works on any DVD player then you'll need to convert them with DVD Flick, ConvertXtoDVD or similar programs.
  11. Sounds like your burner doesn't support the blanks you're using. Please post the log from one of those failed burns (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
  12. Try burning at 6x or 4x, and if that doesn't work then try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks.
  13. Which is precisely why there's no date set for a newer version release
  14. Slim burners are rubbish: you'll have better quality burns if you get a normal-sized burner and put it in an external enclosure. For the burner an Optiarc AD-7240S is great. By the way, if you're going for Pioneer as per xaudiox's suggestion, don't get the DVR-118/DVR-218 ones because they aren't good burners (the 116/117/216/217 are the good stuff).
  15. Meanwhile you could try burning the blanks you have at 6x or maybe 4x to see if you get a better quality burn that's playable on your DVD player.
  16. Since it verified OK then the disc should be good. You could try with high quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks to see if your DVD player likes them better.
  17. You'll have to throw out that disc and use a new one: the burner won't accept burning it even if ImgBurn tried to. The option for ejecting the disc after burning is in Tools -> Settings -> Device tab. As for renaming the files without touching the source files you can do that by using Advanced Input of ImgBurn's Build mode.
  18. You need to convert your files using DVD Flick, ConvertXtoDVD or similar program before you can burn to a DVD that plays on any DVD player.
  19. I don't think DVD Flick can import full DVD-Video content into its project: DVD Flick is mostly used when you want to create a DVD from video files you have on your computer, e.g. AVI, WMV, etc.
  20. That's all up to the write strategies stored in the burner's firmware: the software just feeds data in the correct fashion.
  21. If you click Ignore then the burned disc won't be strictly following the DVD-Video standard, which is the format that all DVD players understand, and, as such, the disc might freeze/skip at the layerbreak or not play at all. As for the Cancel button, it should be pretty obvious what it does.
  22. Try burning at 8x or 12x, or 16x if you need the fastest reliable burn speed. By the way, what's the brand of those blanks?
