  1. Also try updating your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished).
  2. Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc, and if that doesn't work, then you'll need a new burner.
  3. Try DVD Flick, as it creates a proper DVD-Video structure. Notice you can add more videos until you fill the DVD's capacity.
  4. Add just the VIDEO_TS folder and ImgBurn handles the rest
  5. Try burning that disc at the slowest speed your burner/firmware/media combination supports (look for the Supported Write Speeds field in the media information text). You could also try a lens cleaning disc on your car's player.
  6. With ImgBurn what comes in is what comes out, i.e. it doesn't change anything. Have you converted the videos using DVD Flick/ConvertXtoDVD/other programs? If you did then you should look into that program.
  7. The default interface ImgBurn uses is SPTI: you can change it in Tools -> Settings -> I/O tab, hit the Defaults button, answer No then click OK. You were able to overburn ~177 MB over the DVD+R disc standard 4,482 MB, which is pretty good although very unreliable. Use the option "Write files/folders to disc" in ImgBurn, have a blank disc inside the burner and, as you add your files, ImgBurn will tell you how much space is left and how much (in percentage) of the disc's capacity is being used
  8. Then post the log from when you've tried with the Verbatim disc.
  9. You only need to format BD-RE media once, and after that you can just overwrite it.
  10. You're trying to burn more than the disc's capacity, and that's why you're getting that error. By the way, why are you using ASPI interface?
  11. ImgBurn uses Windows' common controls for that function, and since those are very different Windows versions, that's why you're getting different results in the stardard listing.

  13. The burner has to have proper support for the blanks you're using in order to give you a good quality burn, and slim burners are rubbish in general, so you have to use high quality media with them. A newer normal-size desktop burner might be able to burn those blanks you have.

  15. Yes. Also make sure the burner on that desktop computer has the latest firmware (within ImgBurn right-click the burner's name and you'll see the option ).

  17. Have you tried with Verbatim DVD+R DL media? You might also want to look for the latest win7 drivers for your motherboard's chipset and/or storage controllers (hint: use SIW to identify them then use Google to find the latest drivers).
  18. If it doesn't come in ISO/BIN/CUE format then use ImgBurn's Build mode to burn the downloaded update to a blank disc (choose ISO9660 + Joliet filesystem in the Options tab for greater compatibility).
  19. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try again. It might also be worth burning at 2.4x to see if it works better.
  20. You'll need to convert those movies with DVD Flick, ConvertXtoDVD or similar program before you can burn a DVD that's playable on any DVD player.
  21. All the firmwares on FirmwareHQ.com were downloaded by ourselves directly from the manufacturers websites (we mirror them for easier searching and downloading), so feel free to check directly with LG's website. I know that TN02 from FirmwareHQ.com is good because I've flashed it myself to a friend's burner less than a week ago Remember to close all programs, remove any disc from the drive and close its tray before updating, then reboot the computer after the update is finished.
  22. You can choose based on ImgBurn's star rating (Very good/Good/Average/etc), and if all of them were average then any of the options would have the same effect. That's why previewing is important, so that you can choose the best option that suits your needs.
  23. My LG GSA-4081B from 2004 is able to burn those blanks at 1x, so all the burners from around that same time should also be able to burn those Verbatim blanks at 1x. But seriously, why do you want 1x? You have good burners and they make better burns on those blanks at 8x than an old burner would at 1x.
  24. I was looking if the burner has the latest firmware available and if it has correctly recognised the blank disc.
