You're probably using junk media, burning too fast or your burner is dirty/has old firmware. Of course we wouldn't have to guess if you actually posted the log.

All console games are protected in some way so that you can't easily copy them. Even if the drive did recognize the disc ImgBurn doesn't bypass/remove any kind of copy protection.

Look in Device Manager of your Windows 7. You can also use SIW to get detailed information.

DVD Shrink or something. You can try using the DVD-R DL blank you won't be able to change the layerbreak position, and that might make your movie momentarily freeze/skip at the layerbreak point.

If it indeed doesn't have protection (very unlikely) then yeah, it's just read + burn. Also read this while you're at it because it's important.

Look for win7 drivers for your storage controllers.

The log of that burn would be useful (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).

With ASPI the booktype command did get through, which is why the disc is working. As for the slow speed I have no idea Try asking in Wine's forum to see if anyone knows why this happens or a solution to this problem (link to this thread so that they can see the two problems).

ImgBurn burns stuff as it is, i.e. it doesn't change anything. You'll have to use another program (probably a DVD re-authoring tool) to do what you want. Probably even DVD Shrink can do that.

It did verify OK, which means the disc should work as expected. The only difference I noticed was the booktype: Change the I/O interface to ASPI in ImgBurn's settings, then use the Change Book Type feature (right-click on the burner's name) to see if you can change the booktype for DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM.

.dvd and .ccd are alternatives to .mds since not all programs where you can use disc images support the .mds type.

Then your only option is to get a new burner, preferably an external normal sized one since slim burners are rubbish.

You'll have to use a DVD authoring program to do that. Have you tried DVD Flick or ConvertXtoDVD? Alternatively I think you could burn it to an Audio CD, which your old DVD player does play.

Your burner doesn't support the blanks you're using, and since there's no firmware update for it, you'll have to try with other blanks, preferably Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.

You can only burn using the speeds listed in Supported Write Speeds field of the disc information: those are the speeds your burner and its firmware support for that media, and if you choose an unsupported speed, the burner will just ignore it and use the closest available speed. Also notice that the slowest speed doesn't necessarily result in a better quality burn, which is all that matters for reader devices. Post the log of your latest non-working burn (look in ImgBurn's Help menu) and tell us why/how it doesn't work for you.

Try burning at 8x or 12x, and if it doesn't work then try with high quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks.

The burner thinks the disc has had data burned on it already. Have you tried other blanks? Do you have another burner you could try those blanks?

That disc has nothing useful written on it or else you would've been able to save what was on it with IsoBuster.
