  1. With ImgBurn in Write mode and that disc in the drive, please copy and paste here all the disc information text shown by ImgBurn in its main window.
  2. Please post the log from that read operation.

    merging DVDs

If they're DVD-Video compliant (i.e. VIDEO_TS folder with IFOs/BUPs/VOBs inside) then you'll need to join them together by re-authoring before burning. I think even DVD Shrink can do it.
  4. Also update ImgBurn to the latest version while you're at it.
  5. You can find the logs from previous burns in ImgBurn's Help menu.
  6. Nope, the write speed list isn't going to be restricted: it's up to the user to look at the Supported Write Speeds field and choose the appropriate speed. Alternatively they can use the AWS feature.
  7. Also update ImgBurn to the latest version.
  8. Did you try that? You could also try a lens cleaning disc on that burner.
  9. ImgBurn is just a burning tool, i.e. it doesn't convert anything. Have you tried ConvertXtoDVD? It does a very good job.
  10. I think it's the media: try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks, and if you get errors with those then you can be sure your burner is bad.
  11. Install service pack 1 then install service pack 2 (it's easier to get them by using Windows Update/Automatic Update). Do you still get that error?
  12. Try burning at 8x or 12x and enable Verify as that's the only way you'll know if it was a good burn or not.
  13. I think the problem could be related to the media you're using, and I don't think a cleaning disc would help since that's a pretty new burner and it's unlikely that its lens are dirty already.
  14. Try with high quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks. If it doesn't work with them then you should use a lens cleaning disc on that burner.
  15. It did verify OK so the problem may be in your source files. Have you tried playing that disc on other BluRay players? What about software BluRay players like PowerDVD/WinDVD/etc? By the way there's newer firmware available for your burner (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished).
  16. Have you run the NECND350_v21B.exe executable that's inside the ZIP archive you've downloaded? That's the firmware updater you need to run in order to update your burner's firmware (remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before updating then reboot the computer after the update is finished).
  17. Just to clear things up, you have a Verbatim blank disc in the Pioneer burner and the Pioneer burner is selected as the Destination in ImgBurn's Write mode, right? And you get the Incompatible Medium Installed message? If that's true then your burner is defective and you should get it returned/exchanged under warranty.
  18. That log is just opening and closing ImgBurn, nothing was done.
  19. I'd use UDF 1.02 as pretty much anything can read that filesystem
  20. Update ImgBurn. Update the burner's firmware. Burn at 16x if you want the fastest reliable speed, but you may get a better burn if you use 8x or 12x. Further in that log, isn't there the operation when you read the disc to the HDD? It might also be worth testing that computer's memory with memtest+ or similar.
  21. With ImgBurn in Write mode, could you please copy and paste here the disc information text from those blanks?
  22. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try burning again. You might also want to try burning at 16x or 24x for a possibly better quality burn.
  23. Usually when there's a problem while reading a disc the drive returns an error. If the image is still on your friend's computer then try verifying there to see if you'll get miscompares.
  24. You should enable Verify, as that compares the burned disc against the source image: if you get errors/miscompare then it was a bad burn. As for reading the disc, ImgBurn asks the drive to read every sector of the disc, and if the drive reports any error while reading the disc then ImgBurn will show you the error reported by the device. By the way, there's newer firmware available for your Samsung SH-S223C burner. You might also want to look for the latest drivers for your SATA controller(s).
  25. Post the log from that burn attempt (look in ImgBurn's Help menu if you closed it).
