  1. With ImgBurn what goes in is what comes out, i.e. it doesn't touch video/audio/anything. That problem looks like a bad/low quality burn, and you've said yourself that the disc that plays OK was burned with another burner. Post the logs of those burns (look in ImgBurn's Help menu) if you want to know more.
  2. What's the type, brand and rated speed of the blanks you're using? Also try those blanks on other burners you may have access to, maybe the blanks themselves are defective
  3. A few years ago that could be true, but newer burners like yours are better tuned for faster burns, not to mention those MKM-003-00 Verbatim blanks are rated for 8x burning. You could try with the 2.4x Verbatim blanks if you can find them.
  4. Those are the write speeds reported by your burner as supported for that media when ImgBurn queried the burner for all the media information. The burner's manufacturer might have seen fit that this media ID can be burned up to 10x, which isn't all that uncommon: we see it a lot with DVD+R DL media as well, e.g. Verbatim 2.4x rated DVD+R DL blanks can be burned at 8x on some burners. If you use Verbatim BD-R blanks it'll probably allow you to use the burner's fastest 12x BluRay burn speed
  5. Yes, but the log you've posted is incomplete. And it doesn't look like you're burning DVD-Video, which is the format that all DVD players understand. Are you sure you've used DVD Flick? You can set it to use ImgBurn to do the burning part for you.
  6. Try burning at 4x or 8x to see if you get a good burn on those blanks. If it doesn't work then try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks.

  8. The burning program also has to support buffer underrun protection
  9. Notice the pink banner at the top of this page
  10. Please copy and paste here the contents of the Log window when that happens.
  11. Your burner doesn't support those blanks, and since it already has the latest firmware, there's no way to make it work You can try with Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL blanks or you could get a new burner to replace the one you have
  12. Try burning at 4x or 6x. If that doesn't work then try cleaning the burner with a cleaning disc.
  13. Do you have any codec packs installed on your system? If you do then uninstall all of them. If you have ffdshow in the list then upgrade it to the latest version. Do you know which file made it hang? If you do then use GraphEdit to render that file and tell us which filters are being used to decode it (you can take a screenshot and attach it here if you want).
  14. Those blanks are rated for 8x burning and your burner only offers 2.4x, which means it's probably using a generic write strategy, i.e. it doesn't really support those blanks. The blanks you've used before may have a different dye that your burner supports (you can check their Disc ID with ImgBurn in Write mode).
  15. As in everything, you get what you pay for. If you want to burn at full speed you have to use the good stuff.
  16. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try burning again at 6x or 4x with a brand new blank disc.
  17. You can't force the drive to burn at a speed it doesn't support: it'll simply use the closest available write speed.
  18. The media you're using is dodgy at best and the drive may have misread the sector due to the disc being hot. If you took the disc out then put it back in the drive may also have chosen to use a more adequate laser power to read the disc. It could also be caused by a bad filter driver (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu). There's a very small chance that it could be due to system memory problems, but you'd have noticed programs crashing, BSODs and reboots.
  19. We've seen that problem before and it seems to be related to this: W 10:27:40 Waiting for buffers to recover... (LBA: 775936) Defragment your hard disk and don't use the computer for anything else while burning in order to avoid buffer underruns.
  20. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try again with the Verbatim blanks. If you still get the "medium not present" message then throw that burner in the garbage and treat yourself to a new burner because you won't find better quality blanks than Verbatim.
  21. If you used Read mode to create a disc image then Write mode to write it onto another disc then the burned disc is just like the original. ImgBurn doesn't change anything when you use Read mode.
  22. Plug the burner as Master and only drive at the end of a good 80-wire IDE cable. Also look for the latest win7 drivers for the IDE controller where the burner is connected to.
  23. Use a lens cleaning disc on that burner. If it doesn't help then try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks, preferably the 8x rated ones if you can find them.
  24. ImgBurn uses DirectShow to decode audio files. You can use GraphEdit to see which filter is being used and which filters you have on your system. There are other programs that allow you to change the filters' priorities too. The first thing I'd try is uninstalling all codec packs you may have installed on your system.
  25. Because Ner0 uses its own filters and not the OS' filters like ImgBurn does.
