99 Cent store DVDs better than more expensive brands
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Dudeman456's topic in ImgBurn Support
Because MCC is just about the best dye you can get! If that's what the 99 cent store is selling, get more of them before they run out. -
I don't (can't) do graphs. All you need to do is click that 1 button (in donta's screenshot earlier), it's not exactly rocket science! DVDInfoPro will then load up automatically and display the graph. If you leave the program settings so 'Auto Export' is enabled, just double click the 'exported' line in the log and it'll display it in DVDInfoPro too. That's how I always do it.
-
Have you perhaps limited it to just using the ISO9660 file system? Joliet and UDF should be ok with it.
-
WOW that's an old version of DVDInfoPro you're running there! As donta pointed out, that feature already exists within ImgBurn. ImgBurn captures that data and creates an 'IBG' file, DVDInfoPro (new versions!) display it.
-
Well those file dialog boxes are generic ones built into the OS. All programs do is call the API function. So if you have a problem with 1 program, you'll have a problem with them all (assuming they use the generic box).
-
So you click on the 'browse' button and it takes 45 mins to pop up?! I would guess it's due to some bad shell extensions/context menu stuff or you've got a very slow / non existant remote drive configured that's having to time out before the dialog box works properly.

Invalid or Unsupported image file format
LIGHTNING UK! replied to carlos18ok's topic in ImgBurn Support
Nope, it's still on the same version that was released back in April. The next one is in the final stages and I really hope isn't far off being completed now. -
step by step guide on buring movie clips
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Sossity's topic in ImgBurn Support
If you're just archiving the files, there's no need to convert anything. You can't archive AND expect them to play on 'normal' DVD players - the two are mutually exclusive where avi / mpeg files are concerned. If you have a DVD player than can play that type of content though, it'll be fine - as would it be if your source files were a VIDEO_TS folder full of IFO/BUP/VOB files. The default settings would work fine so just click the 'Reset Settings' option and then drag all the folders / files to the 'Source' list as per the guides. (and then follow the rest of the guide!) -
DVD Image ends early when mounted on a virtual drive.

You might know what you mean but I haven't a clue. Post a log, screenshot, *something* ! -
If you've never had a problem before, consider it a duff disc, throw it in the bin and burn another one. Personally I'd ditch the Ritek and buy Verbatim.
-
The last one is wrong. The MMC specs say a 50/50 split preferred because it is the most compatible with readers, it's not vital by any means. You'll probably find the drive performs the padding required to make the data burnt to each layer roughly equal. That's why the sync cache / close track / disc commands take a while sometimes. Of course the simple thing to do is just pick a layer break point that's close to 50/50!
-
It's used by people who don't know better. I used it about 15 years ago when I was a 'newbie'....but never since then. In any case, it's not something I need to be reminded about.
-
No. Read mode is dumb and just makes a sector by sector copy.
-
Indeed, to get max speed you probably need a single layer DVDROM disc. Even single layer DVD Video discs could read slower in the drive if it's what's know as 'rip locked'.
-
ImgBurn is not DVD Decrypter. ImgBurn is a burning tool, nothing more.
-
It makes no difference. You're looking for problems where they don't exist! Just read your discs at MAX and if you come across a messed up one that's been dragged along a gravel floor, THEN think about slowing the read speed down until you can finally read it or decide to give up.
-
It's down to the drive as to how and when it speeds up / slows down. All setting the read speed does is impose a 'maximum' limit that the drive shouldn't exceed. The a certain disc is scratched so badly that it can't be read normally, I'd probably use 1x as that's when you've the best chance of reading something due to the slower rotational speed. For every day use, MAX is fine.
-
Get yourself some decent Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media and burn at 8x or 12x.
-
There's enough error correction on data discs to leave it at max. The only time you'd want to slow it down is for things like CD-DA (Audio) discs (which 2.3.2.0 doesn't support anyway!).

Adding multiple files/folders via CLI
LIGHTNING UK! replied to moongose's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
oh right, that would just open another instance of ImgBurn. Sorry, can't help you with that. -
Adding multiple files/folders via CLI
LIGHTNING UK! replied to moongose's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
You mean specify multiple lists? As in /SRCLIST "C:\List1.txt|C:\List2.txt" ? That's the only way I can do it so if your software can't output like that then I won't bother. -
The first error is the real one, not the one you see when the program retries the write operation. So basically, according to the writer, you're getting a rather generic 'Write Error' as it starts on the 2nd layer. Switch to Verbatim.

The times are relevant to that PGC, so it's basically at the very start. It looks to me as though the original LB would be the 2062600 one as it has an entry in PGC 1 which appears to be the big one and SPLIP is already 'false'. The preview window shows you the LB cell (the one selected) and the one before it. Clearly if you select an option that's cell 1 then there's nothing before it - hence no Cell- or Cell+ buttons.

ISO from Dual Layer DVD Video has no MDS file
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Sliztzan's topic in ImgBurn Support
That thread must have been an old one as clearly it's no longer true! The thing is, obviously you can't move files within an ISO, so unless some cells are already aligned correctly, you're stuck. Fair enough, in such cases you wouldn't get the layer break selection screen pop up. If the program can't find any when the files are in an ISO, I would recommend you rebuild the image by extracting the files from the image and then using Build mode. As you've been given options and you're burning an ISO, just select one of them and get on with burning it! -
ISO from Dual Layer DVD Video has no MDS file
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Sliztzan's topic in ImgBurn Support
If it's an image, just assume the one with SPLIP = false to be the original LB. So basically that's the one you should select. ImgBurn is better now at finding the LB without the need for the MDS - but it's still not perfect. In your case however, it appears to have worked just fine. There is no way for anyone other than you to know which is the best one for the job, every project is different. Of course not every project will have the same options or colours of stars available so don't think you must follow EXACTLY what was done in the guide. The whole idea of the 'preview' button is so you can look through the choices and make an informed decision.
