Quick question on buffer while BUILDING an .iso
polopony replied to Peppero01's topic in ImgBurn Support
pepper ,buffer under run protection (BURN proof )is turned on by default which means that the buffers could empty completely the burn would stop and wait for the buffers to fill and then resume the burn without any problems or creating a coaster . If I try to burn faster than my CPU can handle the buffers empty all the time and I havent created a coaster in years .There used to be a BURN proof box that you could enable/disable but it was removed from the main window in one of the upgrades to the program, if you go to tools, settings, write, its there now -
theres another post using the same drive having trouble with RICOHJPN-R03-04 .(cowgurl8016 in this forum a few posts under yours) and I believe your firmware is 1 update behind
-
plenty of negative comments on this media if you Google "Disc ID: MXL RG01" even threads about couterfeit ones out there ,these days we only reccommend Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim discs they're tried and true all else is crap by comparison .Your firmware is up to date so I'd really try some Verbs or Yudens haven't had a failure with them in years

definetly sounds like drivers check "event viewer" if its an XP OS

Burned discs stop playing part way through
polopony replied to cowgurl8016's topic in ImgBurn Support
would this be in a dell computer if so theres a firmware update for this drive ,that would be your first step updating the firmware if its not dell you can still look for an update by right clicking the burner in the destination box in IMGburn last line is firmware updates just follow the prompts -
the ripping function of DVDD was what led to its demise and all sorts of legal problems for LUK .We can't suggest anything for you as we dont want legal problems for IMGburn also its a burning program .You should try Google it might help you out

Maybe add/place VIDEO_TS/VOB burning in the WRITE category?
polopony replied to DudeBoyz's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
So a full-on finalized VIDEO_TS folder doesn't count as a Writeable thing? You know, you really aren't very open to suggestions and criticism. You seem to have a bit of a disdain for people who are simply trying to comment on your product or even simply suggesting things - simple things - like what I mentioned. You don't have any positive remarks and don't even bother being nice about it. It's like somehow your consumers are just a pain the tail that you look down upon and don't want to deal with. I don't get it. Why so bitter? I mean, you got a great product that could maybe be a bit easier to use or even become a better product by adding a few things, but you just don't seem open to the idea. I appreciate your product, but your attitude seems to be kind of stand-offish. for a member who has all of 22 posts and joined the forum 5 weeks ago you really have no right to make statements like this, you're way out of line -
its that programs ability that led to its demise and all sorts of legal problems(nudge nudge, wink wink say no more say no more ) but you never know what the future might bring

the log is generated when you burn something it appears in the box below the IMGburns main window starts like this and if you look it says IMGburn log at the top of the box go to view at the top of IB and put a check next to log it should be there unless you changed settings ,if you have been playing with the settings then TOOLS ,SETTINGS,DEFAULTS it works perfect as downloaded I 07:20:38 ImgBurn Version 2.1.0.0 started! I 07:20:38 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 1) I 07:20:38 Initialising SPTI... I 07:20:38 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 07:20:38 Found 2 DVD-ROMs and 1 DVD?RW! Please burn something we really need a log it will show what drive you have the media you're using your current firmware all very necessary when trying to find what the problem is Write Caching Many disk drive manufacturers now include a write cache on the drive hardware. This cache is usually an area of temporary volatile storage (RAM) that has a faster access time than the actual drive media. Its purpose is to increase throughput. These devices use an algorithm to write back the cache. When the write back cache mode is enabled, the disk controller uses the cache to temporarily store data that is promised to be written to the medium at a later time. This allows the disk controller to indicate to the computer that a write command has completed prior to the blocks of data actually being transferred to the medium. The process of transferring the cached data to the drive medium is known as cache-synchronization USE GOOGLE on a quick search I found a few people with this problem who were using a Pioneer 109 drive and it was compatibility problems with media /firmware

"I have just upgraded my Imgburn," support for IMGburn is always for the newest version , if you posted a log that would have let us know what version you were using ,it could have been a bug in an older version ,its why I said the the version has been well tested .The newest version is night and day compared to 2.0 theres a lot of new features in 2.1.Get back to us now that you're using the newest but hopefully updating has cured your problem "I can burn one image to a DVD with ImageBurn with no problems. But if I try to burn a second image (I close and restart the program inbetween)," this is what got me to believe you were burning one after another ,didn't know that you were burning days apart or hours or whatever
-
my experience with nero was that you had to un install the previous version completly first before you loaded another version otherwise I had problems
-
IMGburn wont read any copyright protected discs its a burner program For legal reasons we cant help you with copying dvd's but if you use Google you might find what you need
-
what you burned even yesterday you might not be able to burn today Ritek its hit and miss the last good media Ritek made was their GO4 4X media I still can play stuff I burned to them years ago .Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden are the only discs I burn to anything else is a waste of time and effort .If its dual layer stuff then Verbatim dual layer discs are the ONLY ones to use, anything else is at your own risk I dont know of any media and /or drives that support 1X burning these days, if you look at the supported write speeds in the IMGburn window then thats what you should burn at the Disc ID: 0@P-!-00 is common to -R media even the great media I have the same ID on my Verbatim 16X -R discs you can ignore it dont bother to try to write anything at 16X speed all the testing done even to greaat media suggests that 12X should be the max in order to get high quality burns( 90% plus) Look at the drives and media forum I 18:57:54 Test Mode: Yes this from your log, in test mode its a simulated burn you dont actually burn anything to disc also your drives firmware doesn't recognize that media as you see theres no supported write speeds in thew main window look for a firmware update phillips are a" brand" of disc at doesn't mean much they put their name on discs manufactured by different companys, phillips also sell discs that are CMC MAG some of the biggest crap in the world

saw an article where some of the Plextors are rebadged Teacs, price always put me off them when you can get an excellent drive for what amounts to half the price

since you can burn OK its not a problem with IMGburn ,this version has been well tested . You dont need to close and reopen the program between burns thats totally unnecessary so why dont you just leave the program open and burn one after another and see what happens. It may be something you're causing by opening and closing the program

Disc ID: CMC MAG-E01-00 Like Kev says they're real junk ,I would bet that about 90% of the failures we see or other errors are due to people using CMC MAG based stuff . You can go to www.digitalfaq.com and do some reading on blank dvd quality
-
usually when they dont verify its crap media. If you post a log then we can see what you're using .not the brand but the dye type .You can put a blank dvd in the burner and copy and paste the info in the box to your next post looks like this, these are Verbatim along with Taiyo Yuden they're the best all else is crap Physical Format Information (ADIP): Disc ID: MCC-004-00 Book Type: DVD+R Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1
