  1. as kids we used to go out by LaGaudia airport in NY and lie on a hill that was close to the landing path of incoming flights and they were no more than 50 -100 feet off the hill before touchdown the earth moved the noise was incredible, they finally fenced off that section and you couldn't do it any more
  2. start with the power supply an easy switch out and the first component that would take the brunt of the lightning ,simple power strips with a surge suppressor are real cheap the reaction time is what to look for when buying the faster the reaction the better the strip

  7. the changes that have the best chances of being implimented are those that help everyone or else the software would be about 3000 gigs large well maybe a little smaller .If it can be done using the drives software then you have the option to turn it off
  8. Imgburn forum where no one ever sleeps ever
  9. Bill like I said in my post the firmware you show is not a lite on firmware from what I could find its probably a firmware that the computer manufacturer installed for a drive thats OEM , thats why its region locked and you cant flash to original LON firmware . How old is your comp and who made it ? Packard Bell ,Dell, HP ,Gateway, E machines This will help .Although the Sonys played fine is this a new batch ? and maybe one of your friends have some media you could try Verbatim preferably but anything at this point
  10. goes back to a time when there were different (companies)people backing different formats nobody really won so we have both - and + I have 250 of those discs and they are excellent I bought 200 for $54 at office depot I also have 100 or so +R's also great but the inkjet printable suit my needs when I want to do a cover with my Epson 960 cd/dvd printer _NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG 2.1B (ATA) Current Profile: DVD-R Disc Information Supported Write Speeds: 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x Pre-recorded Information: Manufacturer ID: MCC 03RG20 the difference is that the + is slightly bigger and with the DL stuff positioning the layer break can be done with +media but can't be done with -R the layer break is fixed .Verbatim is the only way to go for dual layer discs
  11. 7,8,9 so you probably wont see that one
  12. Pre-recorded Information: Manufacturer ID: MCC 03RG20 Recording Management Area Information: _NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Disc ID: 0@P-!-00 Book Type: DVD-R Part Version: 5 Disc Size: 120mm morning spinner I believe that disc ID is common with -R media mine is Verbatin 16x-R
  13. 12:49:35 Write Speed: MAX Average Write Rate: 1,735 KB/s (1.3x) - Maximum Write Rate: 2,598 KB/s (1.9x) from this Id check my DMA settings you're set to max write Supported Write Speeds: 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x the drive sees the write speeds as 6-16x looking for the firmware for that drive I came across this LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-1635S - YS0B, YS0G, YS0R, YS0V, YS0W, YS0X, YS0Y, YS0Z new right click the burner in the destination box of IMGburn last line " firmware update" follow the prompts and update yours see if it helps. Your firmware sounds like it could be the Computer manufacturers firmware so you might have to go to their website or I'd crossflash it to official liteon firmware
  14. go to the official IMGburn site download 2.1 save it to your computer then open the file and it will install, just follow the prompts
  15. if it contains the bup files then you can copy those and rename them IFO files

    Plextor

my mistake they are 16x and not the 760 drives
  20. polopony

    Plextor

saw this while surfing and its becoming disturbing how many drives are misrepresented these days, you think you're buying a plextor great name great history but what you get is It IS NOT a Plextor. It is a Teac drive with a Panasonic chipset. Plextor bought these drives and slapped their name on the front and put their own version of the firmware in it (rebadged). It reads/writes considderably poor for a drive with the quality "Plextor" brand name. Stay away if you are looking for a good Plextor.

OK when he comes back everyone hide
  22. formatting the RW is a one time thing then click start the burn and verify are done automatically as long as you have verify checked in the destination box, you should come back to an operation completed notice .If you use cheap media then chances are the verify will fail
  23. could be the media youre using, you can also update your firmware for the drives and see if that helps . somehow I smell CMC MAG here, real shit media
  24. yeah pick the Temporary ones
